Querrey beats Acasuso 6-7, 6-4, 6-1, 6-3

Surprised no one has started this thread already. The young American beat Chucho 6-7, 6-4, 6-1, 6-3, Good comeback from him after losing a tight first set. But Chucho :banghead: Why didn't you play some warm-up tournaments?!

Hardly suprising from Cucho given he played no leadup tennis, wtf

01-15-2007, 07:56 AM
Wow. Grats Sam. I watched the first 2 sets and thought it would end up a much more evenly matched fiver-setter. Hmm. Looks like it's a bad tourney for the argies so far, great one for the Americans.

Great from Querry, Acasuso again show why he can't be higher when you are so un-consistent like that. Just serve is not enough.

saw one game of this, the last game of the 2nd set. Seemed like an even match, so surprised that sam run away with the last two sets.

A horror result :( this is probably as much of a shock as the ljubicic result

Sam :yeah:

I saw it coming , Querrey has tools to play some people where talking how good Tsonga is , but Sam is the worst, Huge serve, good forehand, decent backhand. And draw is nice to him in next round he plays Serra who is not hard to beat having so many weapons and then Melzer /Robredo also possible to make another upset , but I am not sure how fit is he. But he can go far if keeps everything together.

So long Acasucko! :wavey:

01-15-2007, 12:42 PM
Sam :yeah:

The clay court season cannot come soon enough for Acasuso.

Day-after bitterness is always entertaining.

SAM!!!! Wow!!!! I'm so excited...his first win in a GS if I'm correct :DHe won a match at the USO but this is a much better win in terms of quality of opponent and recovering after having served for the first set, etc :)

Ahh, that's right. Thanks Deb :) I was very surprised that he was able to recover that way after watching the TB. His draw isn't terrible, maybe he can get a few more wins :D

terrible from acasuso... really...

Yep, poor from Chucho. But credit to Querrey he obviously stomped on him when the chance arose.

Losing Calleri and Chucho this early in this fashion does not bode well for our chances in Austria if Nalbandian does not play. We need JMDP to put a smile on our faces today.

happy for sam! sad for the linesman who need a break from shouting foooot faault at acasuso..Didnt watch, just assuming!

01-15-2007, 07:50 PM
his draw is open a little bit now, he can beat Serra, and Robredo/Melzer on hardcourt aren't great, If he was close to beat Tursunov and Nadal in the summer so why not Robredo.
