Ljubicic's 1/8 of a draw atrocius...

Look at this horrendus 1/8 of a draw:
Fish vs Mahut
Fleishman vs Arthurs
Stepanek vs Dlouhy or Gabashvili
T. Johansson or Chiundelli vs Ferrer

I dare you to find a worse 1/8 of a draw in recent memory, if not worse then at least below 100x less interesting than this draw... This is just horrible, as much as I dont care for Ljubicic, too bad he didnt win...

as for this draw, I hope Johansson or Stepanek reach Qf's at least they could make it mildly interesting when they play safin

It would be nice if ToJo manages to reach QF

Huge opportunity for pretty much any of those players to do something bigger than they've ever done...

I guess Stepanek would be the fave?? with Fish a co-fave maybe?

Fish will win this
no he is a master choker, he is expected to beat mahut next round so he will probably lose.

Stepanek. never gonna have a better chance to get to, or win QF.

Donkey Kong has been improving steadily every week it seems. He might go deep, in more than just Hingis.

Stepanek or Ferrer . Both in very good form.

Why is that "atrocious"? It's great that we'll see someone new and different making it to a GS quarterfinal and possibly further. We need some surprises. It'd be much more boring for most people if Ljubicic got through just because of a draw again.

Anyway, go TOJO! Take advantage. Or Mardy!

Fish to make it , I hope so. If he keeps his head cool he has good chance to make it.
So it could be All american QF andy vs Mardy , it sounds fine to me

:D It's not anymore atrocious than any random GS quarter that's lost its top seed. ITA - it'd be great to see Fish or Ferrer or, hell-why-not Mr. Hingis get to the quarters. zircofiril is just bitter, and perhaps a bit premature in placing Safin in the Qs.

An aside: The most jaw-droppingly bad quarter that I can recall is the one that Patty Schnyder "heads" in this AO ladies draw.

Yeah, waaaay too early to put Safin in the QF, and he knows that.

Although I do think Chakvetadze is in Schnyder's section of the AO, and I'd love to see her get to the QF and give Maria Sharapova a good match. Chakva's been playing great tennis since last fall and has shot up to #12 in the rankings!!!

Mr Hingis will rule, he is actually in excellent form despite being out for months and engagement to Miss Hingis

I nominate the French Open 2004

Haehnel v Llodra
Jeanpierre v Spadea
Horna v Blanco
Burgsmuller v Henman

Oh, shoot, that's right. Chak is tough, and is in form; I guess I was thinking just of the lameness of Schnyder's group "up the r16". Okay, I'm exiting and promising to drop the WTA talk.

Rubbish. I've definately seen much weaker sections than this.

Neither Fish, Stepanek nor Ferrer would be surprise quarter-finalists.

bitter? no I just dont want to see any of those crappy uninteresting players advance...

Tojo's career is almost over, I dotn care for stepanek or ferrer, and fish is an ahole, so... as for the rest they are all nobodies I mean not even up and comers they are either late in tehir careers or wont amount to much... just a very crappy draw...

I disagree, Henman, although not a claycourt specialist, is a tennis fan favorite because he had never won anything, Horna at least was young and had some potential same with Haehnel and Spadea which was the Fish of that draw is more entertaining than fish...

Your opinion does not equal fact, there are several players in there that are very interesting to me and as far as I'm concerned, it's more exciting to see players making great Slam runs late in their careers, it makes the experience that much more valuable knowing this could be their one and only moment in the spotlight.

I root for Lizard Lips Mahut to serve-volley his way to the last eight!

It is kinda shitty to see this section and then see the Mallise/Clement, Santoro/Kunitsyn section, which to me is very very open. All those guys deserve to make it to round 2.
