wow. do these early retirees still get 1st round money?

Sucks that they can't get a lucky loser to fill in, but that wouldn't be fair I'd reckon.

Pim Pim should be suspended for 1 year or pay some heavy fines for wasting everyone's time an costing someone else a spot in a Grand Slam.

I highly doubt he injured himself in the first two games so he must have known he would do this and go home early with some money.

What a classless piece of trash.

Oh-oh - not on the Injured List again, PimPim.

Bah. I expected a lot from him.

Wow! The bottom half should be very interesting. At least it is even, a retirement in the top half and one in the bottom.

Johansson wasn't going to walk away from that easy first round money.

GlennMirnyi
01-15-2007, 06:58 AM
Stupid Johansson. Why doing that? Let some LL play in his place instead of retiring after two games. Totally uncalled for and classless.

2 games? I guess he was not fit but needed the money.

I have to admit that if you are not one of the top players its tuff to say no to around $13 000 just for hitting for 15 minutes...

Sommarsverige
01-15-2007, 07:48 AM
Pim Pim definitely did not need the money and only played these 15 minutes because of the money!

He really wanted to play, but he had a blister on his foot and said in an interview that his foot hurt so much, it was impossible to continue playing!
I am sure every other player would have done the same and had at least tried in such an important tournament!!!

PimPim withdrew from the previous tournament and was giving himself every chance to do alright here. But hey, what would I know. I like him so I must be biased.

Kristen did you watch Jonas today??

Kristen
01-15-2007, 10:00 AM
I tried, but I arrived too late.
They put him on a small (by Swede/number of Swedish fans standards) court, and all the seates were packed, there were several rows of people in every corner and gap between seats. STUPID I tell you. There were more than twice as many people to see the match, than there were seats. I saw Jonas' head. I saw Niclas Larsson and then I went to watch Jurgen play Karlovic instead, because Jurgen has no fans LOL!!!

This really sucked for me, because I spent ages waiting for JC, and when Hacek retired, I went straight to see GGL, only to find that this match was over too. But I really hope pim pim gets better soon.

Oh Pim Pim  This is terrible  I really thought he'd recovered from his injury, shame, hope he can be better for the next tournaments.
