It's a very interesting read. But where is it from? L'Equipe? Naide 01-14-2007, 07:32 PM Thanks a lot. It's a very interesting read. But where is it from? L'Equipe? yes;) Abnaxus 01-14-2007, 07:43 PM Does anyone know if Marcos will get to play tomorrow or has Schuettler pulled out due to illness. These were the latest news i managed to find in google news. Germany's Rainer Schuettler could miss out on his much-anticipated Australian Open first-round showdown with Marcos Baghdatis as he has been laid low with a bout of 'flu. "Schuettler has been confined to bed with the 'flu and he is in danger of missing the first grand slam of the year," a statement on his official website said on Saturday. Choupi 01-14-2007, 08:55 PM There's nothing more concerning Schuettler. All I found was that he was still uncertain yesterday, but nothing more recent. I'm afraid we'll have to wait & see. Which edition of l'Equipe was it? I mean, maybe I can translate the interview for the non French speakers, if someone's interested. And, as I'd like to paste it on my site, I need the exact source. Thanks in advance. :) Dimitra 01-15-2007, 05:29 AM Marcos won in 4!!:bounce: Baghdatis def Schuettler 6-4, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 Abnaxus 01-15-2007, 06:24 AM Good job, Marcos. Next round: Marcos Baghdatis CYP (11) vs. Gael Monfils FRA linus 01-15-2007, 10:11 AM Marcos should triumph over Gael :p I wouldnt like this match to happen  christos 01-15-2007, 11:43 AM Well done Marcos ! Choupi 01-16-2007, 06:55 AM Interview of Marcos, after his match against Schuettler, available here: http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/news/interviews/2007-01-15/200701151168796528734.html sdimitri 01-16-2007, 07:17 AM Bravo to Marcos for winning. Gael won`t be an easy going though so Marcos should play good. The good news are that with Schuettler Marcos didn`t felt any problem with hes injury. Gooooooo MARCOS!!! protomis 01-16-2007, 02:56 PM Markos will play doubles with K Economides of Greece Dimitra 01-16-2007, 09:21 PM Interview of Marcos, after his match against Schuettler, available here: http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/news/interviews/2007-01-15/200701151168796528734.html He's under so much pressure!:o I hope he can find a way to cope with it... sdimitri 01-17-2007, 05:18 AM Yes, that is true, he is under a lot of pressure. Everyone is expecting from him to do well, like last year and that puts a lot of stress. But now he is in the top players, he has to learn to cope with this kind of pressure and stay focus. Its not an easy thing to do, but Marcos is strong and for sure he knows how to play tennis!!! Choupi 01-17-2007, 06:24 AM For sure Marcos has a lot of pressure on his shoulders, because of his status of being part of the Top 20. Pressure from the fans, the crowd in general, the media as well as the team. They all have their own motives to expect so much from Marcos. And this is certainly something he's gotta learn to cope with. But in the interview, he mostly insists on his father's presence, which is adding to that pressure. Don't forget his father brought him to play tennis (or more exactly, told him to). And now that Marcos has reached such a status as a professional player, he feels he's gotta proove the trust his father put in him from the start. Not very easy to handle at first. Hope he can kinda free himself from that feeling he's got no right to fail in front of him....... Choupi 01-17-2007, 01:36 PM Don't know what happened because I haven't seen the match yet (I have it on tape). But Marcos lost to Monfils 6-7 2-6 6-2 0-6. linus 01-17-2007, 02:55 PM :tears: Marcos looking backward to Marcos' shows earlier this year, what he played today was still bad :o Gael isnt in his good form tho he has a fighting spirit if he wanted... maybe this time Marcos owned less of his own  anyway, dont feel too frustrated  just wish what he said about his balls soon prove to get paid  LadyNalbandian 01-17-2007, 04:36 PM and it seems that baggy is a little more fat ... hawk 01-17-2007, 09:19 PM Don't know what happened because I haven't seen the match yet (I have it on tape). But Marcos lost to Monfils 6-7 2-6 6-2 0-6. Don’t watch the match. It hurts! Marcos needs some serious help up there. Choupi 01-18-2007, 06:36 AM Don’t watch the match. It hurts! Marcos needs some serious help up there. Too late for the warning, I have watched it. Well, Marcos played the game he had to play for half a set, in the beginning of the 3rd. Far too many errors especially with his forehand to trouble Monfils. And I think the timeout at the end of the 3rd set totally upset Marcos, having him lose that pace and focus he had recovered in the 3rd set. Anyway, he's gotta learn from experiences like these. sdimitri 01-18-2007, 07:59 AM It was a bad game for Marcos. He looked so match stressed and made so many mistakes!!! That is no Marcos game. It doesn`t matter, every game is a new experience and he has to learn to deal with the pressure of being at the best. We love you Marco no matter what and i am sure this was a lesson to make you stronger! sdimitri 01-18-2007, 08:08 AM At least they won in men`s double with Economides of Greece. Marcos Baghdatis (CYP)/ Konstantinos Economidis (GRE) def Mariusz Fyrstenberg (POL)[8]/ Marcin Matkowski (POL)[8] 6-4 6-2 The other team is number 8 in doubles ranking. That is a good win! Choupi 01-18-2007, 08:50 AM That is indeed a very good win. Fyrstenberg/Matkowski is a very good doubles team. I've seen them play in Metz last year. So congrats to Marcos and Konstantinos. :) Dimitra 01-18-2007, 10:23 AM It was a bad game for Marcos. He looked so match stressed and made so many mistakes!!! That is no Marcos game. We love you Marco no matter what and i am sure this was a lesson to make you stronger! Exactly..and who knows?Maybe there will be less pressure on him now-he will enjoy the game again and play as well as he can!Except the Wimby semis he has so few to defend..right now he has fallen to no.21..that's not thtat bad!;)Now Marcos win your way slowly up the rankings with CONSISTENCY throughout the year!!!:) We love you anyway!:wavey: Dimitra 01-18-2007, 10:27 AM That is indeed a very good win.
