Hey, Fish has to play doubles and singles on the same day one after another it seems. What a bummer. Oh well, at least he is optimistic about it all.

Nadal pretty much had to do the same... except that he didn't play doubles on Sunday.

If their match is anything like the one in Australia, then I don't mind Roddick and Safin being on my TV tomorrow. If one of them decides to fucking blow, I'll be annoyed.

Bunk, tangerine.... yeah, isn't ESPN great? Apparently there are some people walking around IW confusing CORIA with NADAL. Me thinks that ESPN is to thank for that rubbish. Brilliant! Hurrah! ESPN RULES.

Leave it to ESPN to manipulate the schedule so that they show Andre and Andy. Gee, did everyone else know that these are the only two matches of any importance tomorrow  . It's bad enough that the coverage is only 2 hour blocks. Ridiculous  .

Anyway....

Good Luck to:

Looks like Roger will have to do the same. Depending on the length of his and Hewitt's matches, he may have hardly any time between his singles and doubles.

Doesn't this tournament care about *suitable rest*?

While the rest feel screwed because these two are all we ever see anymore  . Gee, and I wonder why the audience in the States aren't aware of the "foreign" players :p . It would be different if ESPN catered to both sides with a little bit of a match here and a bit of a mtch there to keep a majority of the audience fairly happy. I still remember years ago when ESPN did jump around and they actually used to show doubles with leftover time and not replay a match  .

Wow... now I look a little foolish for saying in GM that it was arrogant to declare there was no way Hewitt could defend this title. From the stats it really looks as though he played an utterly appalling match, that's about the lowest first serve percentage I've ever seen even by his standards and a ridiculous amount of errors.

A wonderful win by Juan Ignacio. He'll have much more problems with a more offensive player in the next rounds of the tourney but i don't think Lleyton will have many chances to beat him in the future. 1-0 for Juan Ignacio head to head.

Oh, he'll probably drop down to about 19 or 20, but IW was essentially the only points he was defending until LA and the US Open so he really has no place to go but up. The bad news is that he'll get crappy seedings for the clay events. I'm more concerned that he has some kind of injury that's affecting his serve, because those first serve and DFs numbers are so shocking. I read that he had a pulled muscle in his side from Rotterdam. Should be interesting to see what he says in his interview.

Fish needs to work on his consistency badly, 40-15 up serving for the match and he ends up having to save a breakpoint to close it out. 7 aces to 8 doubles is taking him into Dent serving territory as well.

Well RF, as I said I would assume Corretja because he got broken, but they seem to have resumed now - it could have been anything to be honest, I remember in Miami last year someone started threatening a fellow spectator and had to be removed by security, causing a delay of several minutes. This was during Massu's match with Costa, so it may have been boredom that made them so irritable.
