If nalbandian had a great serve do you think he would closer to the number one spot than he currently is? or do you think its other parts of his game that are lacking?
just like to hear everyones views

I don't know if that's the only reason, but I think he needs to improve his serve. Defenitly.

Yes, David's serve is definately a problem, - and I know he is aware of it - problem is, when it gets to a tense moment in a match he gets nervous and it's always the first thing that goes. Must admit, that much as I love David I am never, EVER confident of him serving out a match or even a set.........I always feel much better when his opponent is serving and he has a chance to break them. Hopefully, it will improve with time - at the moment all I care about is him getting back healthy enough to even compete on the circuit again :sad:

If he could at least serve like Hewitt or Agassi (not even Federer or Roddick), winning his service games, serving out matches or sets would be much easier for him.

his serve can be smaekc for return winners by some of the WTA players:scared: and I'm not joking:o he needs to get some more mph on that serve, and he should rise up the rankings with much more ease

Yes, he could improve that serve. With the improvements in place, he could break the top 5.

Yes he must improve his serve, though I think he has a pretty good 2nd serve. The problem is the first.

Serve and mental. If he improves that, he's a Slam champ.

Nalbadian = ATP's Dementieva. ;)

He has a good first serve that is not attackable like Volandri's, but his second serve is the liability. And you know what they say, you are only as good as your second serve.

I wouldn't go that far. Nalby doesn't hit all slice serves, after all.

Well, Leo. i guess you're right. But she was the closest. he's not ATP's Hingis ;). BTW .. nice avatar and .. who's ATP's Lindsay .. Marat?

Not a bad comparison. But I don't see Lindsay making Slam finals anymore. :(

As for Nalbandian, I've always seen Myskina as his female counterpart. They have similar games and similar service struggles. They've also both missed many good chances against the top players in Slams.

That's a good one, Leo. However, there's a huge diference between GS results between the russian chicks and David. But if you choose for example, Capriati, that would be too much for David.

And about Lindsay .. i'll keep the faith.

I actually agree with you, Leo. He does need to work on that serve IF he expects to garner better results.
