Hewitt Faces Hot Field
Two-time defending champion Lleyton Hewitt will face one of the hottest ATP Masters Series fields in history when he begins his quest for a third straight Pacific Life Open title in Indian Wells later this week. Hewitt, who is 14-1 on the year, will confront a field boasting 19 of the world's Top 20 players, including Carlos Moya (18-3) and INDESIT ATP 2004 Race leader Roger Federer (16-1), who won respective titles in Acapulco and Dubai last week.
Andre Agassi (8-2) is vying for a staggering 17th ATP Masters Series title and will be a contender along with Andy Roddick (17-4), 2003 finalist Gustavo Kuerten (14-4), Juan Carlos Ferrero (9-4), Dominik Hrbaty (17-3) and Australian Open finalist Marat Safin (7-4). Main draw play begins Friday.
