Why do people call Novak "Nole"?

I was just wondering because Nole doesn't sound like a Serb nickname.

That's sort of like when someone is named Jean-Robert.

If you're really american, it's Jean (Jeen...) Robert.

Or, if you're able, pronounce it like it should be: Jahn Roh-behr (I suck at doing pronunciation things, but you get the point!)

What I hate is when people say: Jeen Roh-behr or Jahn Robert. Pronounce it one way or the other, don't mix and match :mad::tape:

Novak!! Nole (giving nicknames for everything and everybody is veryyy bad habbit in Serbia) sounds awfull. Novak is the great name and should stay that. He likes Nokia too.
