can you cancel the Poll "bump up"

every time someone votes, that thread gets bumped up to the top
and that means the 1st page of GM forum is littered with Polls

hence the above thread "Are there too many Polls ??"

Yep I've stopped that behaviour now. :) I've been meaning to change that for awhile but just never got around to it. Thanks for prompting me into action.

Create a subforum just for polls, please, because some of them (ok, a good majority of them) do not have anything to do with tennis.

I think polls are appropriate in GM, actually. For instance, we're sure to have "Who do you think will win Roland Garros?" in a couple of months, and that would be perfectly acceptable.

The problem is not so much the polls, especially now that the auto-bump has been turned off, but that there are non-tennis threads in GM. It's the content of the those threads that's the problem, not whether or not they have a poll on them (although most *do* seem to have polls).

I think moderators should be a bit more involved and move non-tennis threads to "non-tennis". That would resolve the problem.
