Predict-the-SCORE is a game in which you can predict the actual scores of
matches on the ATP tour.
Throughout, you will predict the scores to 15 matches of your choice.
However, the matches must be chosen in this breakdown:
Round-Robin: 12 matches
Semifinal: 2 matches
Final: 1 match
If a match becomes invalid (withdrawals or a retirement during the match)
the pick is not counted and you may reuse it any other time during the
tournament.
EVERYONE is invited to play but the Top 8 will play a different tournament
from the rest.
Top 8:
The Top 8 will be divided into 2 groups, and will then predict the scores for
ALL the round-robin matches.
The two players with the highest scores from each group will then advance to the
semifinals (#1 from one group vs #2 from the other group) where they'll predict
the scores for the semifinals. The 2 winners of the semifinals will then advance
to the finals. The other 2 semi-finalists will fight for 3rd-4th placing.
The two players at the bottom of each round-robin group will face each other in
a battle for 5th - 8th place. The semifinal round (#3 from one group vs #4 from
the other group) will decide which 2 players will play the 5th-6th placing match
and which 2 will play the 7th-8th placing match and the final will decide those
two matches mentioned.
Regular Tournament:
The other players will square off in the format of a league table, predicting the
scores for ALL the round-robin matches as well as the semi-finals and final.
Ranking points will be available for ALL! :D

All I'm saying is that I played crap earlier in the year, then didn't play for a few months and when I did, only submitted first round tips due to no net access at home and only been able to access it at a library due to me moving. I finished off the year strong, but not strong enough. I may have played more tournaments, but I didn't finish a quarter of them off.

I think I made a mistake last year. The ATP website says Nalby got 650 for winning the TMC.
Well there is a reason why he only got 650 and not 750 it was because he did not win all his round robin matches. The most you can get if you win everything is 750. I belive that last year Nalbandian lost to Federer in the round robin which is why he didnt get the full 750. ;) :D

day1:
Federer over Nalbandian 6-3 6-4
Ljubicic over Roddick 6-4 3-6 7-6
Ljubicic is the first player to be added to the Hitlist. :rocker: With the TMC's round-robin format comes the possibility for a player to appear more than once on the Hitlist. Stay tuned to see if anyone achieves this feat. :tape:
Bolar Bolabi shocks his naysayers by winning Day 1. He was last heard muttering, "Take that, adee-gee!" With a score of 41, he leads the regular tournament, with Alonso, balloon, LaTenista and adee-gee himself on his heels.
In the Red group, all players except virex fell victim to Ljubo. As a result, virex leads with a three-way tie for second place. In the Gold group, Wimbledon champion SwissMister1 and Roland Garros champion Peta Pan lead proceedings with Ria and bavaria100 close behind.

11-12-2006, 01:43 PM
BTW, in case of a tie in the round-robin groups, day-by-day H2H will be counted (i.e. the player who had a higher score for a greater number of days wins), followed by the number of correct predicted winners if the tie remains unresolved. Any objections? :p

qczi wins Day 2 and leaps to pole position, with Day 1 winner Bolar Bolabi a couple of points behind, followed by bad gambler and ExcaliburII. All 4 players made the wise choice of picking Blake over Nadal. :yeah:
Only one player out of the Top 8 went with Blake. His risk paying off, former world #1 SaFed2005 climbs to #1 in the Red group ;) In the Gold group, RG champion Peta Pan holds the top spot currently. Unexpected results in the round-robin groups so far considering SaFed2005 and Peta Pan are the #7 and #8 seeds respectively. :p

I can't believe nobody else picked Blake to win. I honestly most of you guys would pick Blake too. And I don't think it was a risky move at all on my part considering the way these 2 players matchup and their H2H.

:haha: most of those doing the "normal" tourney are much better than the "Eight masters". Are you nervous guys? :p
I don't really think its the fact that we're nervous. Its more that some of these matches are so hard to predict and you need a little bit of luck at getting them right.

Maybe Nalbandian wont play today.
One info about Nalbandian:
David's cousin and godson, Lautaro Nalbandian, died today in a horrible tragedy. The little boy of 9 years old, was crushed by an elevator on a strange accident.
The poor kid was trapped for almost an hour because the elevator dragged him up. The special rescued team had a lot of trouble to free him. Seems that he died before arriving the hospital.
Some papers say he was a cousin and another a newfew. But he was not his brother's son. Anyway, David was his goldfather and very close to him
David was told today after the trainning and he's recluded in the hotel, in a very bad state.
Is not totally confirmed his participation tomorrow against Roddick.
In any case, he will not arrive in time for the funeral (the wake was this morning in Argentina)

BTW, I'd like to announce that I'll be retiring after Davis Cup because next year is an important study year for me and I'll have to do National Service for two years or so after that. It's been a great (albeit tiring at times) experience running the game and I've enjoyed watching it grow from the 10 players or so who played RG 04 to the 20-odd players per tournament currently. I'd like to thank all the players, especially those who have been here from the very start. Hopefully, you'll continue supporting the game. :awww:
SwissMister1 will oversee the running of the game in 2007 and hopefully the managers who helped out this year will be able to continue next year. :p
