Thanks God, Marat won but it was a scary match.
If he keeps playing like this he will lose to Gasquet most probably. The other hand, it's Bercy and an even year...
Well, you never know with Marat what is gonna happen next (what a fresh sentence! )
At least for now he is still on the way to the title... :drive:

I've just joined wooo!

I've won three bets out of four today! I had grosjean safin and chela. The loser was almagro, still i'll take three out of four any day! The big money spinner was safin, bit lucky there, but i'd rather be lucky than good! It was always a smart bet at 1.75

Sure you can.... I think. If you edit your first post, and edit the title there, it will be changed.

I just wanna say that I didn't like the way the public reacted to this match. I mean, I know Marat's a favorite in Paris, but it was like "everybody with Marat and against Robin"... Cuz that was really against him. Everytime he would make a fault, people would cheer "Yessss" loudly for Marat.
Marat threw his racket, and people were almost applauding him for that. Isn't it strange ? But then, when Robin did it, he was booed... I think that's so unfair !! So I left the match. But nice win Marat. Anyway...

I thought they were quite fair, i mean compare this to nadal-berdych in madrid, this is nothing. Let's not forget Marat really earned their respect over the years. Yes, the racket situation was a bit strange. But you have to keep in mind that a lot of people go to the match hoping marat will do something like that(same as with Mcnroe). They will only tolerate that from him.

I know. But admiring a player doesn't prevent you from being fair. I mean, EVERYBODY was against Robin. Poor boy...

Seems like we saw a different match;) , it's not like they cheered when he missed a first serve or anything that bad.
It's though to have a 100% fair match when i favourite is involved, you always have a few people ruining it. Pitty

Almost. They were cheering every single fault he would make.
Yeah I know about favorites, but still, I don't think people realize how hard it must be for the non-favorite...

marat is like an idol in france . we love him very much !! and he will save our tournament this year (like 2004) so, we must support him, that's all:p

i didn't see the match but i'm sure the crowd was not like the crowd of madrid

Signs that Safin will win the tournament.

1. Safin won here in 2000, 2002, and 2004. So if the pattern continues, then he should win this year.

2. Soderling has lost to the eventual champion in the last 3 tournaments he's played (Blake in Stockholm, Federer in Madrid, Gasquet in Lyon). And who defeated him this week? Safin.

Of course, with Safin's brain, these signs probably mean NOTHING at all.

Marat in the Top 30, another win will probably get him into Top 25. Seed at AO is certain.
Marat is now on 14 match winning streak in Bercy.

Bad luck for Söderling. Guy gets to his favourite part of the season and can't get a good draw.

They mean almost nothing at all, even without the Safin's brain.

The fact that he won in Bercy so many times only means that he's more likely to lose.

Too bad for Robin, he could have advanced further with a better draw.

But :hatoff: to Safin, hoping that he wins again.

Such a shame for Robin to play Federer in Madrid and Marat in Paris. With a good draw he could make the semi's of an indoor AMS I think. Oh well, next year I guess.

Well... lets hope for some upsets in so Safin can go easier through.

If he avoids Gasquet then I think he can win it :)
