Gicquel really isn't that bad though, he's been playing well lately. He reached the SF in Metz and the 4th round in the US Open.

He seems like one of those guys who toils in the 200-300 range for most of his career playing challengers and $15k futures, before finally breaking into the top 100 and having a couple decent years before fading back into oblivion.

Agree. That said, he's got an odd trajectory as he has only considered the possibility of making a professionnal career at the age of 24.
