Good win Stani after a slow start.

He had a break in the 3rd set and lost it, but he broke back at 5-4 and was good enough to serve it out at 6-4.

Good win for Stan...

Henman should of broke whilst Stan was serving out! He had a chance...

Henman gets cheated on a couple of calls. One on deuce Henman hits a return that looks like a winner, not called out by lineswoman. Wawrinka yells out then the umpire dutifully follows. After that, Henman, after coming back from 0-40, loses concentration and the match.

Also got to hear Henman swear like a sailor after a disputed line call(That was clearly out and clearly against Henman). Your hyperbole is a bit much, though, as Henman played very well.

Disappointing loss. Henman should have gotten the rebreak after killing off those 3 mps. :(

Nah. Most of those were gifted to him from Wawrinka to begin with.

the real issue is he shat himself from playing fat dave in the next round

lazy gutless bastard sums him up.... no more miserable chokes until next season at least.

Are you mellowing? That was a calm response to the latest Henman foibles.

Hopefully Henman will recover from injury quickly...his challenge faded after he jarred his ankle.

Nice end to the season for Tim...up to top 40 from 60s. A seeding for AO is unlikely...but maybe he can start 2007 well...

Congrats Stan ;)

Stan was really turbo awesome second set and no way could Henman cope with the ability he possesses :hatoff:

mp #1: nice slice return DTL forces fh error.
mp #2: good fh return hits the netcord. Volleypoint forces error.
mp #3: UE Stan.

2 out of 3 mps killed off by Henman.

I'd rather not waste either of our time. Besides, the poll says I'm right.

:yeah: So in other words: you dont have anything useful to say to back up your opinion regarding the mps?

Well, whatever.

I'll miss Henman when he retires. It'll be sad with no decent serve and vollyers left in the game.

Henman was clearly bothered by a problem with his right leg towards the end of the match.

Disappointing, really - I felt he needed to wrap that up in the second set tiebreak but Wawrinka played three terrific points in a row at 4-4 to wrap it up.

Sorry for him, but glad in a sense. ANYTHING would be better than another Federer/Henman match.

hah aw, i love hearing the players curse, especially when it's so unexpected.

 for tim, he didn't get totally creamed as this title suggest, he played very well until whatever happened to his leg. Damn it...

For anyone without Swiss or British leanings, this was a battle of errors which lasted very long. ;)

I thought it was a great match /shrug, not counting the first set. Wawrinka seemed to take a page out of the Roger "I was asleep the first set, dreaming up a way to beat you" Federer book of how to win a match

Come on, that one was clearly out and henman, in his press conference, admitted it! He said he shouldn't have smiled in order not to show he knew the ball was out!!!
