Federer's serve?

I have no idea what server he uses.

As for his SERVE, I give it a 9. He has excellent accuracy and variation in spin (flat, kick, slice) and his main strength is his ability to throw the ball up to the same point for each and every serve so that the opponent has to guess where he is going to hit it.

His weakness is when he misses too many first serves he has a tendency to double fault and sometimes he places the ball too short in the service box and doesn't really jump up to the ball for the extra 'ummpf'.

Even with those weaknesses, technically it is still one of the best serves on the tour without a doubt.

His serve is awesome. The only missing element is sheer power, but he makes up for it with ridiculous placement and lots of changeups in speed.

I give him an 8 because there is some room for improvement when it comes to power.

I give it an 8 because even though it's not fast as Roddick (which is :eek: ) he has good placement and his serve is effective.

8 or 9...1st serve is pretty good. places it well, has variety, reliable...and despite not being the fastest serve, gets his share of aces.

but second serve needs some work.. it's good, but good returners can put pressure on his second serve..most of his losses against lleyton and nalby were due to his 2nd serve.

Federer serves well when he needs it, and he can get the power when he goes for it. But still, he's not exactly known for a stupendous serve like Roddick or Ljubicic is, it's not his whole game.

roger has been serving fantastic all year. incredible serving stats all year round and a fair share of aces.

9 for placement, 7 for power; 8 overall.

there are so many people serving better than him. but federer has the most intelligent serve of all. he uses the best serve when he needs.
