I wonder why everytime this happens people are shocked. When you follow Gaudio's results you'll see that this is not something special.
This has nothing to do with him getting a serve, it has to do with his head. If he feels great and confident and the circumstances are postive he is able to produce some of the greatest tennis... if not, the opposite is the case.

I was being ironic when it came to the shock statement, when he gets bagelled by Lisnard again then it's newsworthy.

None of this stomach bug stuff, he was sick in Madrid, but he just played shit here.

I know that you were being ironic, unlike some other posters. You are ironic most of the time when it comes to typical Gaudio losses like this one. And I guess that is the only possible reaction if you are a big Gaudio fan.

No point being a fanboy is there? But it's not a surprise he is just on holidays at the moment, even then these things happen.

No point in being a fanboy whatsoever. And no, with the amount of matches he has played during the last months, no surprise here. However, I hope he will forget this year asap and come back next year in 2005 form.

Well Nalbandian loves the environment and always turns up to play and Acasuso/Calleri love it as well. Things change and they have enough depth which is a good thing.

Gaudio was very good in patches against Massu in Madrid, but must have been awful here.

The doping issues are pretty clear cut, I'm not going to get into that kind of stuff. Canas was screwed and Puerta should have paid more attention to his situation.

There comes a stage in every player's career when he should say: "that's it, I'm done with tennis!" :o
