Good thread. Another interesting stat is how the
players do when they play a player that is ranked in
the top 10 when they played their match. +10 against
top 10 competition is really good. The majority of players (even top players) hover around the .500 mark and get to +5 if they have done well in big matches. As for +41...there really are no words to describe +41.

Yeah, but people don't consider how many piss-poor tier 1000's you win when they consider if, at the end of your career, you lived up to your potential and you were great. The look at slam wins (Roddick-1, Ljube-0), slam finals (Roddick-4, Ljube-0), TMS wins (Roddick-4, Ljube-0), TMC qualifications (Roddick-3, Ljube- 1), if and how long you were number one (Roddick-13 weeks, Ljube- )

Ljube can continue to win baby tournies like Vienna or Chennai because Andy's won 5 of what Ljube won't ever win. :wavey:

measuring past accomplishments, Hewitt is better than roddick? roddick might suck  , but he is still better than Hewitt today. If they were to both retire today, absolutely, Hewitt will have had a better career than Andy. And I'm ok with that, I don't need to put Hewitt down to make Andy look better  As I said in the thread about Berdych and Andy, I have issues with simply saying "better" because that is too subjective. So except for the fact that you happen to like Ljubicic and clearly are incapable of being objective, why do you really care so much about Roddick sucking? You have to keep saying "Roddick sucks" to pump up your guy? If you have to put other players down to pump up your own, you must not actually be all that confident in his ability to have his accomplishments stand on their own :)

Moreover, I didn't say you said Ljubicic would win a slam or whatever, but you make pronouncements about matches he'll win and stuff all the time; I on the other hand am the type who expects Andy to lose probably 75% of all the matches he plays . Yet, you accused me of saying I think Andy can; I didn't. I didn't put words into your mouth, you put them into mine (twice now;))

Keep going, this is fun. :)

If you have to put other players down to pump up your own, you must not actually all that confident in his ability to have his accomplishments stand on their own :)

Do you really think i say Roddick Sucks to pump up ljubicic
 i mean even tangy knows why i do it

If not that, then why? Just to be an assclown? Yeah, because that's a far more dignified reason  That or you actually think he sucks and just have no tact :D

Point being, you can't deny Andy's good record against those in the top 10 except for Federer. Isn't that what this thread is about anyway? :)

you must not actually be all that confident in his ability

but you make pronouncements about matches he'll win and stuff all the time; I on the other hand am the type who expects Andy to lose probably 75% of all the matches he plays . Yet, you accused me of saying I think Andy can; I didn't. I didn't put words into your mouth, you put them into mine (twice now;))

Keep going, this is fun. :)

so you say i have no confidence in ivan ability...
and but you expect Andy to lose 75% of his matches?

why would i not a confidence in his ability if you say i pronounce that he will win and stuff all the time?

Watching Deb rip apart your "reasoning" is like watching someone shoot fish in a barrel - the outcome is so predictable that you almost feel sorry for the fish. ;)

Ljubicic sucks, a good player can not win all the matchs till the Davis Cup final and loose against a poor player as Hrbaty;)

Uh, Costanza? Maybe in your warped mind you may have felt that you held even ground in your debate, but I can guaruntee you that pretty much everyone who read that little skirmish between you and Deb saw that you lost. Badly.

living in the past? They're seperated by like five points the champions race.

It's nice to be a hater and all, but Roddick has more accomplishments than the rest of the top ten (sans Nadal and Federer) combined.

It is, but Roddick still has a very poor record facing top 10 players when his opponent is ranked in the top 10 at the time of their meeting.

In any case, I don't want to interrupt this little exchange. Carry on. :)
