Fully deserved !!:worship:

Federer Nadal and David are the best players, no doubt about it.

Ill guess Marat and GAsquet & Murray should be top ten too.

Vamos Rey David !:worship:

He will need to defend his Basel points to stay ahead of Ivan next week.
But the week after, Ivan has finalist points to defend in Paris.

David wil be no.3 going into Shanghai. Going out? Perhaps.

I'd love to but I don't think so. I hope he can earn some points in Paris (he lost in second round las year, I think).

If David beats Federer, you would figure he'd beat Nadal/Berdych.
Which would catapult him to no.3 in the race.

In Paris, players defend TMC points as well. So Ivan has 450, David 655 to lose that week.

David wil be no.3 going into Shanghai. Going out? Perhaps.

Will be a close run thing. Maybe even Roddick will be number 3 going in.

David could have been a #1 contender if only he had little more nerves and a lot more commitment to tennis. I really like his overall game, and if he could get a decent serve he'd be really formidable.

Once the TMC wears off, Nalbandian's ranking points will die and he'll be at around 4-6 all depending on how well he does. I don't see him having incredible runs at Basel, Paris and the TMC to wrap up the year. Fed and Nadal have already locked up their 1st and 2nd spots respectively, but #3 till about say #8 is kind of up in the air (though #3 will likely go to Ljubicic/Roddick).

don't be so sure :)

I think Nalbo will end the year top 4

I would be shocked if Nalby even came close to repeating at TMC, as would any objective and rational tennis fan. I see him ending the year around 4 or 5, possibly a little lower but not too much.

It all depends on the type of surface in Shangai. Last year's was almost perfect for David's game, if they put the same one this year, I wouldn't be surprised if he makes it to the final, and then, who knows.

They didn't actually change the surface, did they?

I'm not a big fan of nalbandian but i think he's a better player than ljubicic so well desreved, David. Good job

A Federer in great shape is obviously very likely to win Shanghai, but David could still very well make the final once again [especially with Nadal struggling right now] which would not make him lose an insane amount of points, don't you agree?
Or do you really think that David has no shot at beating Roddick, Davydenko, Robredo or Ljubicic at the TMC? Obviously you do - you "rational tennis fan"

Right now what counts is the race position, and Nalbandian is 6th.

Felicitaciones David, you deserve to be a top 3. I have faith on David for the TMC if the surface remains like last years, but I'm not sure if it will. I mean, I have read in the newspaper that it will be changed to Greenset, like the TMS Madrid, but in the official ATP website there says nothing about it.
If finally the court is not changed, I think David may reach the final, he's a good player and pretty competitive in that kind of court.
