Does anybody know is Kafelnikov at last retired?

He has no match played after St.Petersburg last October.

At the Australian Open Safin said Yevgeny has no longer in a good shape to play professional tennis. Look at recent pic of him, I don't think we'll see him playing again.

Toppu, where did you get the picture from? Is Yevgeny now an assistent of the davis cup captain?? I read that in a French article, is it true?

The picture is from the board's general thread, where the topic was recently discussed ad nauseum..check the archives. BTW, since Kafelnikov is not yet even retired, why is this thread even posted on "Blast"?? Just wondering.

Santorofan , I'm wondering the same thing. And I've got this pic from the davis cup official website. Even there is no official announcement of his retirement but he won't be fit enough to play again, I think.

I once heard he has retired in some news and just plays golf now *gg*. It was said he had done it totally quiet. But I don't know if it's right.
Kafelnikow has been my first favourite player and I really miss seeing him on tour.
I love Kaffy too. Very underrated.
