The winner will play Roger possibly, so it's gonna be a semifinal showdown. Of course it is after this match.

I'd like Safin to win, because I'd like to see him playing Federer. But Nalbi plays better, he reached semis and now escapes from Henman; he gained confidence boost and Safin is a freak, therefore I say Nalbi in 2 or 3

nalby have been very lucky to reach that far should have lost against bennetau or tim if both of them didn't choked

Nalbandian has been really impressive during his last 2 matches, coming back in the 3rd set both times.

But that head-to-head against Safin (1-6) is just too discouraging (although their last match at the US Open was very close). His only win against Safin has been on clay, and I have a feeling that Safin will pull through with this one yet again.

Form suggests that Safin should win easily.

I would love Marat to win, but the blog is too powerful.

But the power of the blog may be dissapated since Nalby has only written one blog in four days.

Well, Safin only lost to Nalby once, and that time he couldn't hold the racket properly, so... The match-up suits him and he, no doubt, has the higher top capacity. However - as always with Marat - it's about wether he can keep it together mentally. If he can - Safin in 2. If not - who knows?

Safin actually looks very determined in this tournament. No slumping of the shoulders or throwing of rackets when things are not going his way. I expect him to keep it together mentally.

6-3 / 6-2 for Safin.

My head says Safin but my heart say Nalby (he will want revenge for the U.S. Open) although I like the idea of a Safin/Federer Semi Final. :worship:

Let's hope. Last week, he played his worst match when it mattered the most. Sadly, he often does that. In terms of sheer capacity - and I expect to be attacked by illogical, purely emotional Rafatard arguments now -, Safin and Federer ar way ahead of the rest of the field.

I love Nalby with all of my heart. But I think Marat is going to win this time, as usual, because Nalby has only written 1 blog so far () and Marat is looking very sharp.

Watching the players so far this week, I really think Marat is playing better than anyone else. I think he will have little trouble with Nalbandian...and then there's Roger...and I think its 50/50 with that match...Roger is not playing that well...To be honest, I really think Marat might win the whole tourney!!!

LocoPorElTenis

Easy for Safin. Nalbandian might make some comebackish moment and take a tiebreak or whatever but not more...

I'm thinking Safin. But who cares? I just love watching when these two match-up. Two of my favorites. Kinda similar when Rafa plays Baghdatis (although the score never suggests how close the match is since Baggy goes off at crucial times).
