Great match from both players. Jose should be happy. What i was happy to see is that they both upped theyre game a notch in the important parts of the match. They did choke a little in that third set but u could really see that they tried to change things (especially with chucho attacking second serves!!)

No it won`t.... You will probably act like schizophrenic during the match and celebrate all the winners and feel sorry for both players when they make UEs... like I did today...:o

Acasuso was serving huge on the second set, and was overpowering Safin from the baseline; Safin seemed happy with letting Acasuso take the initiative. But Acasuso didn't play at the same level in the third, and handed over some decisive points with what seemed avoidable errors.

Acasuso at his best is impressive; too bad he doesn't seem able to play at the same level throughout a whole match, let alone a whole season.

During the third set it seemed he was tired..., his legs I mean. His leg work was not so good and made him make mistakes (specially his serve in most of the 3rd set). I had the feeling that he fought till the end, but was simply not enought this time.
Good for both players, it was an enjoyable match..., something can`t be taken for granted with this 2 ;)

Let's just hope they both play up to their proper levels tomorrow. Looking forward to the match.

Opportunity lost for Acasuso in this match, but he failed to deliver when it came to the big points.

Well done to Safin and I loved how there were no breaks in 2 sets and it was a breakathon in the 3rd.

It was a very interesting match, especially as a prequel to the DC final.
