Excellent result for Richard on his rise back up. At this rate he might break the top 20 again in Madrid. :worship: :D :rocker: :rocker2:

Can't read too much into this win. Jarkko must have been tired coming off a final in Stochkolm.

I agree. Consistency in wins is key for Gasquet.

Putting it the other way, it's a very good win against a top15 guy in excellent form (coming off a final)

Great win :)
But, basically what everyone else said: This can be looked at as a nice win against a Top 20 player who just made a final or it can be looked at as a win against a player who could be tired from the final..

Good luck against Djokovic!

Chances to progress any further? Has a very tough section of the draw.

Yes.
In a final one week and lose early next week is rather common. Players struggle to handle high performance in successive weeks.

Great job, Richard! :worship:

I am so glad he'll meet Djoko next! The match we wanted at USO! What can be better for comparison than head-2-head? ;)

Davai, Richie! Make your reply to all these discussions on how consistent and promising you are! :yeah:

Congrats, Richard. Much needed win, I hope he's able to win a few more matches, though Djokovic will certainly be very tough. Good luck in the next round!

The draw gods need to quit playing games with my heart. Richard vs Novak so early is brutal on me.
