Morning All,

What happened to Tursey?

Did the draw just open up for Blake?

Yup, although Blake's been playing pretty well lately so I think he would have gotten past Tursy anyway.

That's a nasty looking scoreline. Tursunov seems to be in a slump lately and with the way he's been playing (and with the good play from Safin and Davydenko), it's becoming unlikely that he'll be called to play singles in the Davis Cup final.

Great win for Vliegen though! He had a great run last week, too. Unfortunately, he lost a a very, very close quarterfinal match last week at Stockholm (lost 7/6 in the 3rd to Pim-Pim).

Vliegen is an interesting prospect for the dark horse of the tourney, despite the harsh draw, especially when he is in a very good form, the courts suit his game and the usual suspects in his quarter must be tired.

I agree.. If he manages to get past Blake in Round 2 (unlikely, but James could be tired), he could face Safin (unpredictable) or Baghdatis (coming from injury) in Round 3 and he has a shot of getting to the quarters.

Ah, what would we ever do without Yahoo Sports? I remember them writing about Andrew Agassi a couple of months back.

Dmitry has gone slightly downhill since his first title.. I think he plays too many tournaments and by the end of the season he has reached his limit. Also, I'm not sure how he plays indoors.
