I don't see how Bailey can make a difference to this team
Hard to see how Watkins will last the season

To be fair Watkins simply hasn't got the cattle .. Late last season he was slumped over at a press conference after West Sydney had lost heavily up here and when the subject of his future came up he pretty much put it straight back on the club to ensure he got a decent chance to succeed next season .. Clearly that hasn't happened .. He still has the weakest list in the competition .. and to make matters worse half of them were banged up before season began, and in Justin Bailey's case, still are ..

Spoke to Black snr about that today .. Apparently Stephen has had a steel rod inserted into the bone from his knee down .. it's all held in place with screws that look like they've come from Bunnings Warehouse .. not for the faint of heart or weak of bowel!

Great to see him back in the league .. he's a great player to watch .. gives it 110% whether shooting or defending ..

Is that the game where the Crocs scored 50+ in the final quarter.

I was watching on Austar... one of the most unbelievable things I've seen... Bullets leading by 40 at three quarter time, get to their end, throw up a quick ridiculous shot and off the Crocs went to put on some points. This went on all fu**ing quarter.

Nice work G-O-G ..! Those stats suggest tonight's over prediction may be touch and go, but these are very much situational plays, and with both teams fresh, and shooting the ball well and often, it makes sense that they both put decent numbers on the board ..

Mr Flamboyant
10-11-2006, 06:20 AM
Wow Cairns has some injury concerns for this weekend .. Cattalini flew to Melbourne yesterday for specialist treatment on an achilles injury that flared up last saturday night (he was 'done' at halftime apparently, could barely walk) Rob Rose, Darnell Mee (back) and Luke Martin (ankle) are all under minor injury clouds too ..

Same venue.

Agree 36ERS could be understrife, bench looks pretty weak compared to Bullets!!Should be an interesting game with Crocs n Kings, you never want to back against the Kings!!its scary even when their playin away, seem to have good chemistry!!!Tough one to choose, who eva wins the board should take out the game with both sides having good prolific preimetre shooting aswell!!

The only drawback with this .. Adelaide is 1-4, at home and desperate .. Brisbane feeling pretty good about themselves .. Stronger team (Brisbane) SHOULD prevail in the end though ..

Big lines certainly aren't my thing but 13.5 doesn't look like enough start for Singapore against Melbourne tomorrow night .. The Slingers were beaten up midweek then travelled to Melbourne, besides which they don't possess anywhere near enough firepower to compete with the Tigers .. Under 195.5 looks the lean on the total too because the visitors are going to find it tough get in and under these Melbourne monoliths .. in other words I can't see them scoring more than 85..

There is absolutely no doubt in the world about Cat taking the court tonight .. He went south for treatment on his achilles early in the week but has trained strongly since returning on wednesday ..

Luke Martin is the major concern for Cairns - rolled an already sore ankle yesterday but declared himself a certain starter for tonight ..

Mr Flamboyant
10-14-2006, 07:01 AM
Have a few leans re tonight's game but can't put a finger on which one to play ..

* Taipans ML (Kings banged up and minus Mark "the one that got away" Worthington tonight .. Taipans want to make CCC a fortress and avenge last season's semi final loss)

* Tigers - Slingers under 196 (Dave Thomas out, both teams with big front lines)

* West Sydney to win .. (Bailey back in their line-up will make a difference .. they're tough in their little homebush dog-box in front of their 48 fans)

* Dragons - Hawks over 205 .. (any Dragons game is food for thought in the overs dept. Hawks also putting up big numbers of late)

OVERS 204.5 Dragons v Hawks - $1.90

You kidding me, opening home game for the new Franchise, there is no way they will not want to put on a track meet for the fans and we all know that famous Joyce D is a thing of the past with the Hawks very comfortable these days to engage in a shootout with opposing teams.

Really like the under in the Snakes-Kings game with Wortho out and the Kings players will be running around with heavy legs tonight based on the way they faded last night down the stretch.

Might add more...

With respect to this one, with Bailey back and Ya Ya having already spent some time on court, the Pigs finally look to have their full roster back. From all reports this Bailey can flat out ball but ultimately this bet comes down to one thing: Breakers should NEVER be laying points on the road against anyone this season. This one therefore becomes a bet based on principle, got to exploit the mispricing by the books.

Well I kind of have to go ;) But it's certainly never a chore!

Fantastic game .. Cairns were in all sort of trouble early on .. three minutes into the second quarter the score read 17-37 ! Kings came in as their usual selves - stretched the Taipans defense in all directions and found plenty of open looks for threes .. But fatigue definitely took it's toll in the second half .. Taipans chipped away but in all honesty never looked like winners until the final 3.5 seconds! And boy did the roof come when Cat hit that winner!!

Hats off to Brian Goorjian .. He offered no excuses whatsoever after the game when he had every right to .. Just harped on about how great the crowd was (and in Townsville the night before) and how good that was for the league ect ..

Not sure why you guys are so confident about the Bullets.
Bit of history between these sides afterlast season.
Perth kind of have the wood over Brisbane (4-0 last year)

Perth are 5-0.

Quit fucking around with your big lead Bullets, cement it
Therein lies the problem with Brisbane tonight and for the past few seasons .. lack of killer instinct .. For mine they almost appear more concerned with style than substance .. You've only gotta listen in to some of Joey Wright's time outs .. He's consistently having to put rockets up these guys because they just don't play hard enough for long enough!

Head along to one of their home games and you'll see the whole culture of the club is just not where it needs to be .. It's a great place to spot more than a few stunning shielas as well as Broncos, Lions or Reds .. In short it's the friendliest building in the NBL! Hence it's nickname "the library" ..

Brisbane can have all the talent and bling and trimmings that money can buy but if they aint prepared to get a little nasty they'll continue to flounder as the league's great underachievers .. Perth for mine is the antithesis of the aforementioned .. That's why they swept the Bullets 4-zip last season and that's why I wasn't prepared to put money on Brisbane this evening ..

Not trying to rub anyone's nose in it cos I realise a few of you guys took the Bullets tonight, but that's just where it's at with Brisbane atm .. Beating up a team like Townsville the other night is one thing, but grinding down a hard working unit like Perth is something Brisbane is yet to prove it can do ..
