Australia to win at $1.20 is value

New Zealand must be extremely threadbare for the above to be true .. ? This is always a torrid mission for Australia and with a handful of Broncos players (Broncos = :aparty: :rolls: :spit: :rocker:) likely to be in the side it'll be even tougher ..

What does the Kiwi side look like..?

Two very strong squads announced

Now we wait for Great Britain  Any team with Paul Deacon as their halfback is screwed.

stacey jones is back so it will give them yje direction they need, vagana with him in the havles , same halves combo that won the tri nations..

half the aus team played the gf so there will still be that hang over, plus they have had a long season(lockyer for one has had a big season and long one, playing too much footy imo),broncos, storm, doggies all went deep into the finals which most of the aus players are from.

played in NZ.

wait to see the odds they have out for nZ

Odds are with the NZTAB :

Aussie 1.28

NZ 3.40

13+ is paying 1.95, so the line will be around the 10.5-12.5 mark.

Pretty predictable stuff. I will be backing Australia either parlaying them SU or at the line. Will be far keener to take them at the line if the weather is good.

Australian team named today.

Karmichael Hunt
Matt King
Mark Gasnier
Justin Hodges
Greg Inglis
Darren Lockyer (c)
Johnathan Thurston
Willie Mason
Cameron Smith
Petero Civoniceva
Luke O’Donnell
Nathan Hindmarsh
Reni Maitua
Interchange
Mark O’Meley
Shaun Berrigan
Andrew Ryan
Brent Kite

Surprisingly, Ricky got the team pretty right imo. Im glad Hunt is at fullback, and also glad he found run on positions for both Inglis and Hodges. I prefer Thurston at halfback over Hornby. Matuia adds some nice aggression, will be good to see.

But how the fuck Brent Kite was picked over Thaiday is beyond me.

I've always rated Thurston, but I thought this season was probably his poorest. If he can't produce the goods in this kind of company then serious questions will be asked. I would have rathered Hornby personally. Otherwise happy with the team.

Kiwis :

Kiwis: 1.Brent Webb, 2.Tame Tupou, 3.Iosia Soliola, 4.Steve Matai, 5.Manu Vatuvei, 6.Nigel Vagana, 7.Stacey Jones, 8.Ruben Wiki, 9.Dene Halatau, 10.Roy Asotasi, 11.David Kidwell, 12.Tony Puletua, 13.Simon Mannering. Interchange: Jerome Ropati, Nathan Cayless, Adam Blair and Frank Pritchard.

Thurston had a good start... then injury fu*ked him up.

Rumours where going around the club also - INVOLVING HIM.

I think he'll just want to write this season off...

Agreed GG about Thurston, and in SOOIII he had possibly one of the best individual performances Ive seen. He single handily turned that game around, very impressive.

From what I hear, Hornby and Thurston were rated evenly by Stuart going into the PNG game and by all reports Thurston had a very strong game which gave him the nod.

Nope, with Australia tanking that game it means NZ can't make the final, as they were docked two points. Smart move by Australia but hardly in the spirit of the game.

Not true..

When Kiwis beat GB next week and then Australia beat GB the week after it goes to points difference (or H2h?)

Either way the other finalist is far from being decided

I don't even want to consider the possibilty of Australia not regaining the Ashes in the cricket this summer

Unlike many other Kiwis I cheer for NZ and Australian teams if I have no money on the game that is. Pom teams would be right at the bottom of my list lol

That last Ashes was brutal for me I had a big parlay where the first 2 legs cashed all I needed was Australia to retain the Ashes for a huge payout  I hedged a little when things were grim but still cut a loss and the loss of what would have been a big payout.

All signs point to New Zealand tomorrow night .. They must win to stay in the hunt for a final spot .. They've had two weeks to stew over the Nathan Fien saga that put them in this position .. I see them as "banker" material to win but at $1.45 who really cares ..? They should have won ats three weeks ago when the line was -10.5 and in this spot I think they'll come out angry and swamp the Brits ..

dave nz

Kiwis ML for me to beat Great Britain tonight. Not playing that kind of juice straight, parlayed it in with a golf bet which won so have them -115 instead of -200.

Weather update :

Wet all week in Wellington but has cleared the last two days and is fine today. The stadium has very good drainage so provided the weather stays as it is now the game will be played in very good conditions. Gotta suit the Kiwis more IMO.

Kiwis are going to kill 'em - been very impressed with how they have improved and too much ahs been made to the GB's win last week. Add to the fact that Kiwis will be desperate to win, can't see anything but....

Really good fun to listen to poms commentators:

"Raynor......tryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...surely this will be given"
"Yep, no problem with that"
after 24 replays....
"Hey, did he lose control of the ball?"
"Nahhhhhh, no way, this will be given!!"
no try, 20m restart...
"HOW ON EARTH IS THIS NOT A TRY!"
