Coria: “I am happy to have won this easy. It is good for the next rounds since I will save energy that I am sure I will be needing. It wasn’t easy to play to day, the weather conditions made the court very heavy, nothing to do with last week.”

“I want to find the right coach and I am not going to make a quick decision. I have talked to Gil Reyes about having his work plan. We’ll see after this event how things go and take some decisions”

...Gil Reyes as in Agassi's personal trainer?

02-18-2004, 01:22 AM
yeap, he is. Thanks for that info, btw!

02-18-2004, 10:18 AM

Guille defeated Mónaco by 7-6, 3-6, 6-1

I didn't watch it, but I bet Guille didn't play his best tennis. Apparently when he was serving for the match at 5-1 (3rd set) something happened, someone said that he was putting some ice on his wrist.

I hope someone can explain this. I hope he doesn't get any other injury, please....

His opponent at semis is Richard Gasquet.

02-20-2004, 10:49 PM
Although he's not in GREAT form, he should still be able to beat Gasquet anyway.

02-21-2004, 12:15 AM
hmm will be a very interesting match
i hope the whole wrist thing is nothing...*fingers crossed*
Richie got treatment yesterday as well so hopefully they are both alright....

i think i'll be going for Guille...but i'll be happy either way.

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) -- Top-seeded Guillermo Coria defeated defending champion Carlos Moya 6-4, 6-1 Sunday to win the ATP Buenos Aires tournament.

It was a rematch of the 2003 final but Coria won the clay-court event this time. Moya had a 14-match winning streak here snapped.

Coria broke Moya in the third game, and that was enough to win the first set. He raced to a 4-0 lead in the second with the help of two service breaks before Moya held serve.

A third break gave the Argentine the match in 1 hour and 12 minutes.

``I played my best tennis of the tournament,'' Coria said. ``I knew I had to make use of all my opportunities to win and Moya gave me quite a few.''

Coria won his 19th straight clay-court match.

Coming off a nagging ankle injury, this was Moya's first tournament in a month.

``When I came to Buenos Aires I still felt the ankle bothering me. I still continue to feel it, but that's no excuse,'' Moya said. ``I haven't regained my usual rhythm after the layoff and after losing the first set today, I realized it was going to be hard as I was getting a bit tired.''

02-22-2004, 10:37 PM
..and all this coachless too! :D

02-22-2004, 10:39 PM
"This is the best victory of my career", Guillermo said after the match.

isnt that what he said after his victory over Agassi ;)

02-22-2004, 10:56 PM
in another article it said that was his 20th straight clay court win?

thats sooo cute!! that they were calling him harry potter!! LOL

that was the best win of his career?!!! how could he think that was more important than his win over agassi?!!!
i was definately not expecting carlos to only win 5 games...i thought it'd be A LOT closer than that! but oh well CONGRATS GUILLE!!!!!! :D :D :D

almost makes up for his aus open... ;)

02-22-2004, 11:57 PM
Guille said that was his best victory, 'cause was in his country, or that's what I think

02-23-2004, 06:04 AM
Coria made a special dedication of his newly won BA cup to his old friend Matias Sosa Salvador, a fellow tennis player, who died in a car accident in 1993. This segment pretty much states that Coria was supposed to have been in the car with him but decided at the last minute to play in a different tournament.

Here like we are in the middle of the world....we only have 2 seasons that aren't as in the rest of countries.

We have winter season (rains in the cities, but humid and hot weather, perfect for the beach!) since December to May. And our summer (no rains, just very windy days) is from June to November.

03-01-2004, 07:23 PM
on the tv, they say in all the france it is snowing at the moment... I live in the suburbs of paris and it hasn't snowed today... it has snowed in spain, in the south, in the north, east and west of france, but not around my home... I like so much the snow because when it's snowing the bus are always late and that's not our fault ! (I like snow but I don't like cold weathers)
 mordicus

03-02-2004, 05:36 AM
summer is officially over!! *cries*

03-03-2004, 08:45 PM
