Why is Russia playing Tursunov against Roddick?

Am I the only one who finds it extremely weird that Russia chose to replace Youzhny with Tursunov - no doubt the weakest clay courter on the team - in the rubber against Roddick? Do they want a live fifth rubber, or what the hell's the matter? Having said that... DAVAJ DIMA!

Youzhny is tired and Davydenko has fever.

Oh, I see. Bad luck, I guess. This could turn turn out to be a real cooler.

Umm... I completely disagree. Rather, it's "lights out Russia" if Safin CAN'T get his juice together, becuase if he does, on clay, what Blake does won't matter at all. He'll stand no chance. Now of course if he doesn't...

This I agree with. If Marat has his head in the match, it's all over. But you just never know with Marat, do you?

tursunov might win the match afterall, even if it's the 5th set now and he was leading 2-0...but he's a tough guy! He can do it! daaaaavaaaaai! :p

He's both tough and an oaf. Basically, you never know. ;)

Wow, the match is really close....it could go into a TB. Their h2h is 1-0 Roddick, on a hc. Andy should just win this one to save face bcoz surely Marat would win against Blake. That's after this one right?

It couldn't go inte a tie-break, as there are no tie-breaks in the fifth sets of Davis Cup rubbers. :wavey:

Ok wait, are there no fifth set tiebreaks in Davis Cup? The score now shows 6-6 30-0 in the fifth set?

This is agonizing.

Yeah, I realized that too after 6-6 and I was waiting for the first point 1 but instead 15 showed. Thanks for that.

This is an exciting match, it should be more exciting if I'm watching it live on TV but instead I'm watching live scores on the pc and just imagining what the match looks like.

heh, from looking at how the match has gone so far, I'm gonna be so proud of Roddick if he wins this and especially if the US manages to win the tie.

I cannot believe I can't watch this live. Four hours, 10-10 in the fifth set...why the HELL isn't there a live stream somewhere?

A delayed livesteram is the biggest nerve-wrecker outthere when there's a tense mathc. I prefer to watch the score-board and then watch a recording or something.

You can see what's happening in a stream, unless it's a really bad quality one. The scoreboards, especially ones that are as choppy as the Davis Cup ones are, are just torture. SItting there, staring at the thing, waiting for the number to change, with NO IDEA what's going on...it's awful. So much worse for me than watching a tense match.

YES! Well done Dima! Great job, winning the battle of the two purest clay courters on tour. Roddick is really a midget on clay, there's no doubt about that. Now we'll have a fifth rubber including Bob (or possibly Mike) Bryan. How boring is that?

Well, Bob is the better of the single's players...I've never even seen Mike play a singles match before.

Who would russia put in for the match?

I don't know who either team will use. I was just speculating. :)

Really happy for Dima personally. That ought to give him a huge boost in confidence.

But really, it would have more exciting to get a live fifth rubber, with Marat playing for Russia :boxing:

Marat and blake are playing the 5th rubber right now!!

In the US, the coverage is five hours, which is pretty much what the first match took. I wonder if they'll go over and let us see all of the Safin/Blake match too? I doubt it. :(
