Well Done Gaston!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

He reached the third round, he equalled his best performance at the Us open (which was in 2002) and he won the hardcourt hacks contest, What more can he possibly ask for?

Poor Sam  but it was a good effort :)

Anybody talks about you. :( .Next match will be Gicquel/Ferrero. I don't know Gicquel, and with Ferrero Gastón does very hard match.

:smooch: (sorry Marcela)

I was there and saw it. It was amazing! I would say that it was the point of the day (of the matches I watched) but Lord Carlos also had an excellent point in his match.

A thumbs up for Sam though. If he keeps improving, he'll be a good one.

Now it will be Gaston and Gicquel. Ferrero is an idiot  I thought he had a turnaround and then loses to some journeyman :o .

What's player etiquette at the end of a tennis match?

I always thought that out of respect for the winner of the match, the loser should refrain from taking attention away and put off signing and photo-taking with fans until later.

Sam Querrey stayed an unusually long time on court after Gaston won, signing autographs and taking photos with fans. A news article said this was "a sign of his humility." Watching him, I was a bit annoyed because it struck me as a bit inconsiderate and arrogant.

Then again, Querrey has questionable on-court manners: in Cincinnatti, he imitated (making fun, obviously) Rafa's stance and slowness in serving. Maybe he was trying to be funny, maybe he was annoyed at Rafa's slow serve, but it's amazing how arrogant and impetuous he is when he has yet to win a career title in the ATP pro tour.

Querrey needs to improve his fitness and get some more experience in big matches. This was his first U.S. Open I believe. He's got a great attitude and will break through at a slam soon enough.

Great win but if he wins his next match it will be against Federer, the Masters Cup match was a nightmare.
