UPDATE! ;)

R2 Xavier Malisse d. Björn Phau 6-3, 6-0, 6-2
R1 Xavier Malisse d. (13) Jarkko Nieminen 6-4, 7-5, 6-2

The X-man seems to be in excellent form! :D :yeah:

With Pau and probably Srichaphan coming up, he meets two players he both defeated during the previous US Open Series.

Nadal in the fourth round must be possible for Xavier. To equalize his achievement from 2005 (R4 Agassi d. Malisse 6-3, 6-4, 6-7, 4-6, 6-2) would be great! :D

thought x-man was injured, this is surprising :)

I think X-man showed he has a quality power game when he took a set off FedEx in Toronto..he has the game to become top 10, if only he applied himself more in the majors

has the game but not the head

I remember his matches a bunch of years ago and I was always thinking that he would definitely be a top 10 player but he never succeded.
he hasnt got the brain for that breakthrough I think

He's got the goods but he is so inconsistent. It all depends on the mood of the day.
This is a good win but noone is more capable than Xavier to go on and lose a match which is easy on paper. I have learnt to take things as they come and not to expect anything.

I was hoping to catch a fourth set. He must be playing really well to knock off the fighting Finn in straights.

Agreed. You never know what to expect when he shows up on court. The footwork is there, the shots are there, but where the hell is his head? That is a big mystery. I saw him beat Haas in the first round of LA in 2005 and this year he played horribly at the tournament. What is wrong with him?

Come on X! Novak shouldn't trouble you that much... normally...
I'm hoping for a Nadal - Malisse clash ;) that would be sweet
