:woohoo:
He beat Evans , Troicki and Wessels without dropping a set .
Now he will play with someone from this group:
Ferrero, Mayer, other Q , Mathieu, Goldstein, Gonzalez, Vliegen, Starace, Zabaleta, Vicente, Phau, Murray , Volandri, A. Martin, Monfils .

I think the best option will be Zabaleta , Vicente or Martin  .

Do boju Łukasz

Blimey, has it been that long? Well, good on him. Should give your commentators something else to talk about, although from what Nathaliia has said they're not exactly the best out there.

Good for him. Bad for us.

This gives Nathaliia an excuse to talk even more than she already does.

Phau or Volandri would be the best options for him I think

Phau hasnt won a match in like...forever and Volandri has played just 1 match on hard

Wonderful news about Lukasz. The kind of game he has I've always felt he would be a late bloomer but I do see him as a future top 100 player. And certainly there are 4 or 5 spots in the main draw where Lukasz can definately become the 1st Polish man to win a Grand Slam match since Fibak.

He will play Kristof Vliegen ...

I saw him play against Troicki. Heartbreaking match for me of course. Viktor wasn't playing poorly at all, and it was a pleasant enough match to watch, so well done for him to get the win and follow it up with another one to reach the main draw :yeah:

I have a feeling the Radwanska's will have their share of success on the women's side.

And he did need to say of the men, because I'm fairly sure women Polish players have been in GSs.

1st rd Vliegen - clear dominance from Q-bot from baseline
2nd rd Starace, who isn't a hardcourt player
3rd rd Davydenko, who played 380 matches already this season and should be tired
4th rd Gonzo - will be tough, but 4 tbs
qf with Nalbandian will be tricky, but lately david has been beatable
semi with Fed - the last match of Q-bot in US Open

No proszę, kto by pomyślał.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well well, who would have thought. Especially after what he's done in Sopot, where he showed some unprofessional behavior. Anyway, would be great if he wins a set against Vliegen

Niech mnie, złamanego grosza bym na ten mecz nie postawił, a tu taka niespodzianka. Następny mecz to mi Eurosport ma pokazać, nie ma chuja we wsi

That's right. He's even called "the man of steel", as he's so resistant and fatigue proof..So wouldn't be counting on him getting physically tired, especially not after his last match that lasted 6 games (winning games) only ;)

Wow how he will play with Davydenko after these two long matches ?

Davydenko will win in straights and quite fast. But this doesn't mean a goddamned think when you compare it with the fact, that a polish tennis player moved into 3R since 1984

Yes wonderful result again. Hopefully Lukasz will at least keep it reasonably competitive against Davydenko and then rush off to Donetsk to successfully defend his first challenger title there. If he can pull that off he will wake up in 10 days time very close to a ranking in the top 100. :bounce:

I was at Court 6 for most of the Kubot-Okun match yesterday - by far the most entertaining match of the day that I saw. Both Okun and Kubot had small, but loud camps of supporters that gave the match a great atmosphere, especially in the confines of a court that was small even as backcourts go. (Okun's camp was a bit larger) Okun was really consistent in the 3rd and 4th sets but in the 5th Kubot was able to be more on the offensive, especially on Okun's serve. A bit of controversy as a few guys on the Polish side called one of Okun's second serves out, although the linesman called it in. Kubot hit the return and Okun, thinking it was a double-fault, didn't hit it back. The next point someone on the Israeli side said "Lukasz" every time Kubot hit the ball and Kubot eventually hit it long. Okun won the game anyway, so the game didn't have any long-term consequences. The fact that it was one of the biggest matches of Okun's and Kubot's careers and the Davis Cup-like atmosphere that went with the match made it fantastic - too bad I wasn't in the grandstand to see Murray win 6-0 6-1 6-1!!! (snore)

Honestly though, the quality of play in this match was definitely lower than the other men's singles matches I saw - a number of points consisted of endless slicing and somewhat loopy groundstrokes. Okun had a pretty powerful serve when it was working, but there wasn't a radar on the court, so I'm not sure how fast it was. Okun's legs are freaking enormous, so he has plenty of push-off strength to generate serve power. But Kubot hit a few big aces and was consistent enough to pull off the win.

Davydenko should be able to beat Kubot fairly easily, but stranger things have happened. Kubot has already played 10 sets, and he won't get an extra rest day from the rainout, while Davydenko will be fully rested after playing only one set against Mahut. The cards are stacked against him, but I would be cheering on the underdog Kubot if I could go tomorrow!
