Who do you think will reach the final from the bottom half of the draw?

I don't see Andy winning 3 sets against Nadal in their potential duel

Except for Flip in round 1 and possibly Roddick in the SF, no one in Rafa's draw can really trouble him I think. I think he'll beat Flip and I don't expect Roddick to see the semis, so I'll take Rafa.

Finally, a poll that makes sense. Hey, dont get me wrong, Roddick is great, but all players are second teir to Federer and Nadal, even if Nadal loses with a bit more frequency that Federer does.

Roddick, they haven't played in a while but if Andy plays well he can beat him.

Nadal will most likely make the finals. Just like at Wimbledon Nadal had a paper thin draw. There is absolutely no one prior to the semifinals that could even get a set or much less challenge Nadal. Roddick has a lot of tough players in his draw. He has to worry about Marcos or Agassi in the fourth round. And potentially Ljubicic in the quaterfinals or Lleyton Hewitt. Not exactly easy. It seems Nadal should race through the draw just like he did at Wimbledon. Nadal has no quality opponents like Berdych that can stop him.

I'll go with Rafa, but won't be against Federer. Roddick seems to have lost his fire and if he makes the quarters, he'll be lucky.

I can see one of the many clay court players in Nadal's draw stopping him, just as it happened in Cinci.

Ferrero once again dismissed as just a "clay court player" even though he reached the finals at the 2003 USO.....sigh..... And not to mention that has a TMS on indoor hard (Madrid). Ferrero has good skills for more than just clay. He also played some very nice hard court tennis in Cincy (albeit not as much in the final).

Ferrero has grown up not merely on clay but also on hardcourts. He's proven several times that he can play well on HC and he likes to play on that surface.

:yeah: There is some wishful thinking involved, though.

geez easy roddick, notice the same guys on here saying the same thing about nadal chances at tornoto and cinn? what happen there?
Nadal certainly a great player but on hardcourt and roddick playing great he hasn't a chance in hell if they meet in the semis.

You closed the poll too soon.

Neither.

You closed the poll too soon.

Neither.

That was in case Roddick or Nadal did a Ljubicic in the first round and lost. Particularly, if Nadal had played Mark on Monday there is/was a chance Nadal could lose. However, Nadal is not so much of a mental pygmy as Ljubicic.

Andy Roddick will make the finals hopefully. He's confident right now and Jimmy has brought back some of that fire power in the old Andy Roddick. He's improved his backhand and Andy will probably hold serve easily against Nadal.

Personally I'd love to see Andy in the finals
would be such a great boost for him to have another shot at the Open

He's bringing back some of the aggression he's been missing for much of the year, and with Jimmy Connors on side things can only get better for Andy

bring it on

The Roddick option was the leading choice and proved to be correct.
