Well, Marcos could face Agassi in the second round, Grosjean in the third, Roddick in the fourth, Ljubicic in the quarters, Nadal in the semis and … Federer in the final. This is a very fascinating scenario! :)

In tennis nothing is easy. I think its better to play with harder opponents so that he could stay focus and play its best.
Marcos has proved he could win any player. Ofcourse he has to play good tennis at Us Open to do well.
Go Marcos!!!

I agree it sounds like a fascinating scenario. But I always prefer to consider each match after the other. Anyway, good luck to Marcos. :)

Call me crazy, but I think we might be in for a repeat of the Australian here. Wouldn't that be awesome!

I really hope he does. But AO was a slower surface

This is his first full year on tour so he could be getting tired. It's already been a helluva ride, and an awful lot for one little head to handle in 9 mos. It's easy to forget how young tennis players are, and how fast they have to mature emotionally to cope w/all the changes. He's a youngster from nowhere who has catapaulted to the top of his sport in one year. Well done :)

A replay of AO would be Great, but mostly I'm hoping he gets enough points out of the rest of the year to qualify for his first Year End Tournament :) If not, as long as he doesn't injure himself, continues maturing & improving, one Major Final & One Major Semi in his first full year on tour is A Tremendous Result. Thanks Baggy :)

Bravo Marco for the win.
Yes, i agree with TenHound, its been a long year for Marcos and who would have thought he will be in the 10 best players .
I hope he can repeat AO run but what ever the result, Marcos is a winner for this year!

I get your point. No one realizes that hes only been playing for a year on tour. Marcos is also taking it slowly and not rushing into anthing. What i mean is, he has an advantage over murray and gasquet who (i feel) are rushing a bit. Especialy murray who expecting too much of himself, like beating federer and losing the next round. Thats not bad but i think marcoz has an advantage on that because the da he beats federer, he will unbeatble

Marcos lost to Agassi 3 - 2 sets.
As i can see from the statistics Marcos had 23 aces , 6 double faults and 86! unforced errors while Agassi had 9 Aces, 2 double faults and 47 unforced errors.
I think Marcos lost the game by making so many unforced errors.
Thats ok Marcos you lost from a greate opponent!
Pame for the next tournament!

I've seen the match. Woke up especially for the occasion at 2.30am. Actually, he lost the 1st 2 sets because he was making too many UE, and obviously was "respecting" his opponent too much, so he wasn't giving it all in his shots, if you see what I mean. But he won that 3rd set. Yet, Agassi broke him twice in the 4th, leading 4/0. Everyone thought the match was over. But that was without knowing Marcos fighting spirit. He came back and pushed Agassi to a last & decisive set. He suffered cramps in his thighs in the middle of the set. The umpire gave him a warning because he was taking too much time between points. Of course!! He was lying on the floor, unable to stand up.... But he got massaged and finally could finish the match. Great handshake, and great words from Marcos at the end of the match. But red card for the crowd. :ras:

Well American crowds have always loved their American players. And it was Marcos' bad luck to have to play Andre in the last U.S. Open that Andre will ever play in. In fact it is going to be any player's bad luck to have to play Andre in this Tournament. I'm no good at all about following draws out, you know to try to see who might be playing against each other. But I wonder what the crowd is going to do if Andre has to play an American in his last U.S. Open
