And since when has Mal EVER been right on his predictions. He always seems to pick 5 set matches, but lets face it the final is likely that it wont be as good as Marat's Semifinal.

If Mal is picking Federer, that means Safin will win.

"Usually the player who wins more points in a match is the player who wins the match."

 really

My prediction: Fed will win in 4 sets.

Andy This Andy That

From Mal's Article
This match has the potential to be one of the greatest finals we've seen since Andre Agassi's five-set victory in the final of the French Open in 1999. It could go either way, but look for Federer to win in five sets.

After being Safin Slapped three times, Mal was a little more objective here.

Go Marat! :D

No idea whom I want to win. Just hope it's a great final.

The article though? Zzzzzz... just hearing the name "Mal Washington" puts me to sleep. He bores me more than church.

Mal has been picking Marat to lose in all these matches. Vendetta. ;)

Well, to be fair, Mal did pick Federer over Ferrero. ;)

Guess I should congratulate Marat right now huh? CONGRAT MARAT 2004 OZ CHAMPION!!!!!!!!!!

01-31-2004, 05:22 AM
nah... this match is his redeemer  :haha:

i don't know what's worse... picking someone to lose 3 times in a row and have that person wil all three times... or calling a "too close to call" in the federer/nalbandian match... WHAT, was he worried about ruining his match calling record :tape:

anyway-- GO FED!

As usual Mal and his "Marat will never win" predictions....

Go Marat ! Make Mal eat his words again...

Actually I don't really care who wins as I like them both. My main thing is that it's a close final for a change, just because you have two very good players doesn't mean it will be a good match.

I remember the time they played in Hamburg and Feds chopped Safin big time and don't want to see that again. If it could be like the 88 AO final which was one of the last decent finals I have seen, then it would be great.

For the first time I agree with Malivai and I hope he is right too.. though it might be Federer in 4!

I find it amazing that the two "headcases" as the media has labelled them (rightfuly so at times too) has made it through tough draws and are now facing each other. I hope this isn't the last time we see this match up in finals. Either way both have much to be proud of and have shown their true colors as players. I do wonder what would Marat's media coverage be like if he took out 5 Americans at the Open. I still think the crowd would like him.
