I definitely think we have in Aus Open 2004 the best possible semifinals! Marat-Agassi is already done, but WHOA what a great match! And the next one features 2 other incredibly great players: Rogi and JC!!!

What do you think (in the last 10 GS, including 2004 Aus))? 2004 Aus Open wins my vote hands down!!!

Well the last time 4 former grand slam winners were in the semis of a slam was in 1995
Sampras, Courier, Agassi, Becker

this one is pretty nice... also us open last year-- andy, andre, jcf, and nalby... and wimbledon roger, andy, grosjean, and mark. so the last 3 have been nice.

How can vote for this year's if it has not been played yet.. that's stupid....

Hispanica, I was talking about the semifinalists, not the matches! This year we have 3 of the 4 top players, so that's great!!!

WyverN, you're just a walking encyclopedia of tennis knowledge, aren't you? Since 1995 huh? Wow. Guess this means we're in a whole new golden age of tennis. Kewl. :yeah: :bounce:

And bunk, LOL! I turned you on to 2001 USO didn't I?

I voted for 2003 USO but 2004 AO is shaping up to be very surprising and exciting, too. Can't wait to see what we're in for during the next three slams.

It's definitely the current tournament, imo.

Probably this year's AO, unless the Ferrero/Federer match is a total blowout.

LOL guess so.... I just thought that was an impressive list from USO 2001, with the mix of young and old and talent... yeah. lol

I don't know that I see the next three slams being as exciting as this one, if for no other reason than the other 3 surfaces tend to favor some players over others moreso than Rebound Ace, but hopefully!

2004 Australian Open for sure. I'm so impressed with how it's turned out.

2003 US Open was impressive too.

2001 US Open would've been in my top 2 if it weren't for the Hewitt/Kafelnikov cakewalk.

Ok, sorry I misread the title of the thread... I still keep my vote which is Rg 2002

I would agree with Naldo - it's between this one and last year's US Open. My vote would probably go to this year's Australia though - just!

Based on match quality I guess the 2003 USO since both SFs were great matches. Last night's blowout moves AO 2004 below that. I don't know why I picked 2001 USO, I'd change if I could lol

We had three of the top four seeds in the Semis here. When was the last time that happened. Plus, Safin who might as well be Seed 4.

I chose the US Open 2003, but just because Nalbandian reached the semis; you know....because anyway I didn't like the final result of that slam.

2004AUS is definitely the best one, although 2003US is not too far behind.

this slam had a great SF lineup

i think the last time the Top 4 seeds made a Slam SF was at Wimbledon 1993
Sampras, Courier, Edberg and Becker

Definitely AO 2004. Four quality players who have all won Slams and been #1 at some time (or soon to be #1). Couldnt ask for more.

Actually it happened in the last GS too, only Federer (2) missing in last year's USO. Before that? Probably quite a while.

2001 wimbledon

ivanisevic over henman in 5 (big comeback, lots of drama, dream run continues)
rafter over agassi in 5 (upset, lots of drama)

Hmmm... tricky but I w say Aussie Open04 SF since 3 out of 4 players are young and hot [in tennis, I mean] and no Pandy!! RG02 SF comes close though w Safin/Ferrero and Costa/Corretja, all great players on the red stuff.

I don't see why Marat can't win RG this year, mind you I w love for Juanqui to defend his title, providing he is well enough. That will be the factor for him this year. ;)

1992
Agassi def. John McCenroe
Ivanesivic def. P. Sampras

Those are some great Semis

I said 2004 OZ Open

as 3 of the 4 players were ranked in the Top #4 and the other was a former world #1 and was even top #10 as recent as 2003 before a injury broght his ranking down to the 80's.
