A JC-Marat final is what I've been asking all along. I very much hope that Federer loses in the semis. But I think Marat will win JC. he did the last time, on clay, right before Roland Garros, comming off some injury (I can't and don't want to remember which exactly).

Fed's cool. It's his fans that need the humbling ;)

I think Fed will win tonight, but I hope Ferrero proves me wrong. Although it might be better for the board if he didn't ;)

Ferrero, I dont know him, he must be some poor little clay courter.

I'll be shock if he didn't. JCF has enough on his plate to handle, would be too much if Mal places his jinx on him.

says someone who didnt give federer a chance against hewitt or nalbandian so i think your the arrogant one. Plus Federer is one of the most genuine and nicest people on tour (you can tell he doesnt put any sort of act on but is just being himself in interviews etc)

Did not even mention anything about the Hewitt match. Please find me a quote. I knew Lleyton would loose anyway. As for Nalbandian I said I thought he would win. What is so arrogant about that, I dont even like the guy.

Sam, if that's all you care about, you do not want Roger to win lol actually the best thing for Andy would be for Juan Carlos to win and then for Safin to beat him in the final. but I want Juan Carlos to win the whole thing now because of the three I like him best:)

That's okay. Remember Mal always went again Ferrero with almost every one of his RG 2003 predictions, and it didn't seem to hurt him. :D

This one will be tough for Ferrero. I think he will raise his game, but it's questionable whether or not that's going to be enough.

yea... if u don't count the first set, that's demolition

maybe one or 2 fans of federer's TOPS made predictions like that. i picked federer in 4 tight sets in both, and i saw much of the same on the federer fan pages. i must have missed all these alleged outlandish predictions

*ahem* I obviously did not mean that every Fed fan who has ever lived is arrogant ;) I meant that the general attitude around here is getting on my nerves. But it's not a HUGE deal. It's just tennis. If it starts to annoy me, I turn off the computer and it's all good ;)

Now... hopefully Ferrero can give the devine one a match tonight ;) That's all I ask.

IMO juanqui has did what most people think he can't...yeah maybe some would say he has a cakewalk draw...but remember he was with injuries...even if he loses tonite i be still proud of him...he is so close to making a consecutive GS final which not many had been able to do...he had showed how gutsy he can be...all the best!!

Chloe le Bopper
01-30-2004, 07:02 AM
Regardless of what happens now, he's done well to get this far considering the disgusting slump that he was in. He's proven that he can beat who he should beat when it matters - again. The next step, of course, is proving that he can beat the other top guys when it matters - again. If he doesn't beat Fed he'll will still have something to prove in the coming tournaments, but it's been a good effort for him to get this far :)

I'm really hoping it would be a Safin/Ferrero final but Federer is a really tough opponent 4 Juan Carlos and with the injury that he is carrying, i'm liking Federer's chances a little bit better. But i hope i'm wrong... and that JC can prove all the critics wrong as well.

Jazzy
01-30-2004, 07:33 AM
yeh, same here JeLuliA88 , a lot of critics think Roger will win , hope Juanqui can prove them wrong like u said & probably put on a good show maybe shock ppl & pull though!!!! well recently he beat Federer @ the HK Exhibition!! we musn't forget that!!!!

I'm proud that JC got this far with all his injuries and all... despite the match was quite dismal to watch. It lasted not even 1 and half hours :( He looked so dejected after the first set and from then it was just from bad to worse. And putting a positive spin on things... he's no.2 in the world now :) that should be abit of a consolation.

Well I couldn't have put it a better way really... When looking at his face during the match you could see he was in pain soe of the time, it made me SO sad! But yeh he didn't play a bad two weeks so we can't be entirely unhappy, right?
