OMG I can't believe how well Marat is playing right now (and the whole tournament IMO) !!! Way to go Marat, I hope he finishes the job and kick gramps out of the Oz Open ;) I'd retire, Mr Agassi :p *sorry to the Andre fans* Good I'm off before I miss some more amazing points by Marat !!!

PS Geez I think that yapping by all the Safinsluts round here has rubbed off on me, cos I'm beginning to like him more and more as he advances through the Open !!! :) Strange.... Hope he plays the final against Juan Carlos *altho I wouldn't want to make a choice for one of them to win.. no, wait, I'd want JC to win :D But Federer is very strong as well.. we'll see how it goes!*

You know what's really impressed me about Marat these few matches???? He's really keeping his temper in control AND he's more PATIENT on his shots. If he keeps this up through this year, it'll be his year. Expect a few slams.

Marat's facial hair is :lick:

He's playing well and agassi feeling the pressure, the guy even went to the net lol

01-29-2004, 11:38 AM
HE DID IT !!!!! Gosh the tension was killing me towards the end, I really thought Marat was giving in after Agassi won that 4th set 6-1... My God what a match.. I'm so happy for Marat! But I have to admit: Andre played some REALLY good tennis today as well, so Congrats to him too!

01-29-2004, 11:48 AM
Phenomenal match! Congrats to both players. Hope Marat can hold this great form for the final. :)

01-29-2004, 11:53 AM
Great match. Fantastically done Marat

01-29-2004, 11:53 AM
:woohoo: Congrats Marat!

Point one: If Marat wins, wouldn't he be the lowest ranked player to win the AO?
Point two: Marat is now the favourite to win right, especially if Ferrero will be his competitor in the final. But I can't wait for an ESPN guy called Mal, to predict against Marat just one more time.
Point three: I love thi s phrase on Eurosport site "The showpiece match is Roger Federer against Juan Carlos Ferrero for the chance to meet Marat Safin in Sunday's final". It gives a correct impression that they will fight to play against Marat and not for a place in the final.

01-29-2004, 12:06 PM
and after that phrase it says:
"If that match is even half as good as this one it will be well worth watching!"

so true!

01-29-2004, 12:27 PM
I was on the verge of tears when he won

So was I... ;)

01-29-2004, 01:08 PM
Monsieur Q :haha:

Congratulations to both!

Way to go, Marat! :woohoo: :bounce:  :clap2:
