Hmmm... some people say Safin was a bit injured, but he still played fantastic last night and he has his chances... but I would say Agassi has the edge, I don't think he's tired and he's really confident... but we never know what can happen out there!!! If I was forced to choose I would choose Safin because of fatigue but on the other hand Agassi is almost 10 years older

Agassi has a comfortable H2H, 3:1. Plus, he's long in less hours and he always is strongest at the beginning of the season.

I forgot (or maybe I didn't know :o ) that an 18-year-old Marat had bumped Agassi out of the 1st rd. of the 1998 French Open...

They haven't played each other in 3 1/2 years, so it should be good if Marat isn't too pooped. Who knows? If Ferrero could log in the same amount of time and beat Agassi on hardcourts at the US Open...

Depends on how much Marat has left in the tank, he looked positively exhausted by the 5th set of todays match...I hope he gets to the finals and makes up for the disaster that was the 2002 final!

I haven't seen the roddick/safin match yet, so I can't comment on Marat's condition or form (except that he obviously is doing something right, lol!)

Andre was striking the ball awfully well in that first set against Grosjean. When he's playing like that, only a handful of people can stop him. However, I think Marat is one of those "handful."

Marat has what it takes to beat Andre, but the question is whether he can sustain a high enough level for that long a time.

Marat's sure gotta turn it up, Andre isn't gonna make the errors Roddick did. But Andre won't serve like Andy. I don't know, but I'm hoping for a great battle!

Marat is going to have to play absolutely perfect tennis to beat Andre on this surface.

Marat should win. Agassi is not invincible although most people here think he is on the Rebound Ace. Marat has all it takes to destroy Agassi. Forget the H2H, Marat lost most matches because he choked but if he is ready to play, it will take someone of equal ability to beat him.

I hope he gets to the finals and makes up for the disaster that was the 2002 final!

These 2 have not played for a long time! Now that Lleyton is out, gotta cheer for Andre. I like Marat as well but not as much! I dont know how much Saf has left in the tank, he was looking really exhausted which is understandable. Still, i just hope for a good match.

i think agassi will win. much fresher, much better return. and his serve has held up very nicely this fortnight.

Now that I could already watch the match....it's even more difficult to predict a winner between these 2.

It's great to see that Marat is getting back; but definitely those about 14 hours that he has played so far during the whole tournament might be a decisive factor...

I wouldn't call Agassi a much better returner; it's true that he's more consistent, but when Safin gets hot on the returns he can drill them just as accurately and with more pace too.

Safin is a very good returner but no way is he near Agassi in that department. Never. Andre returns serves that i would never think possible to return. And if someone is more consistent that makes them better as well.

It's hard to say.... Agassi is playing so well but soz Marat. The only difference is the court time each have spent on court, Safin has played twice as much as Agassi but at the same time that is giving him match toughness... from the roddick match, u can see how safin has improved soo much mentally, he didn't lose concentration, he just stuck in there and fought it out. i think if Marat isn't too worn out from the roddick match, he will have the firepower to beat agassi, like some said, he's not invincible.

I think Marat can win this match as he is fitter than ever and the 10 yr age difference is the equaliser against the time they have spent on court.

I think Safin might be tired (all his matches in this tournament have been gruelling 4 or 5-setters), and Agassi will grind him down in 4. But only to lose to Nalbandian/Federer in the final. ;)
