What is Tennis Tipping?

In the game, participants pick the winners of all main draw matches (sometimes also qualifying matches) and are placed in a knock-out system. That means each participant plays a different participant and whoever predicted the winner of most matches correctly, moves on to the next round. The same applies for doubles, but you're in a team format and your scores are combined.

Note:

- In case of a tie, a tiebreak match for which the score (as opposed to just the winner) is given, will decide who moves on to the next round. For all participants, this tiebreak match is the same and will be assigned beforehand. If the scores are still tied after the tiebreak match, the winner will be decided in the following order: 1. Countback1 2. Countback2 3. Countback? 4. Tiebreak2 5. Tiebreak? 6. Ranking
- In case a player (i.e. the actual ATP Player) retires in a match, this match will be counted as long as one point has been played.

How to Sign-Up:

Just post here that you would like to play. :)
You can only play one tournament per week.
You must commit before the designated time. For this tournament, that time is Sunday 23rd of July 3.00 pm CET

Entries into a tournament are based on a first-come, first-in basis.

How to send in picks:

Picks can be sent in as soon as the draws are ready. Remember, you pick a winner in every match! Picks should be sent by PM, so that your opponent does not know your picks. Picks should be titled: TT: Umag, Day #. Picks can be sent in anytime until the beginning of play each day. Because of the chances of 1st and 2nd Round matches being played on the same day, you should send in tips each day, even if you're not sure if you've made the next round. If you're still in both singles & doubles, you use the same tips for both. For doubles, you still tip the ATP singles matches, not the doubles! No changes can be made.

If you go out in the first round, you should still send in your tips for the second round as there are usually a certain number of participants who forget to send in their tips. Only in the second round will the highest scoring losers from the first round be used as lucky losers if any second round player forgets to send in their tips to avoid walkovers. This rule goes for both singles and doubles.

Tennis Tipping Umag Preview

A small, but select field heads to Croatia this week as the clay court season continues. Heading the field is world #2 and Wimbledon champion Aiken Drum. The British #1 is an all surface player and will be amongst the favourites here, even after 2 consecutive losses at Newport and Indianapolis since winning at SW19. He opens against Israeli nimrodg in the 2nd round. The #2 seed is ZackBusner, one of the most exciting young prospects on the TT tour. The German stands at #9 in the world ranking despite only having 9 tournaments on his record, which include a title at s’Hertogenbosch, a final at Hamburg and semi finals at Wimbledon and Halle. French Open runner up Cipa is the #3 seed and will be in confident mood after reaching back to back semi finals in Gstaad and Stuttgart on his preferred clay. Seeded #4 is savestheday91 – the Serbian had some great results in the spring clay court season, but has been a little disappointing of late and will be hoping to show the sort of form that we all know she’s capable of in her second round match with either newcomer Ria or viaznfzf.


Caralimon is a solid clay court player with a decent run of results on the red stuff and is the #5 seed here – the Argentine is always a danger but faces a tricky second round match against ether Pixie or Buddy. The same applies to #6 Sol Apollo, although the American is in poor form at the moment and will be hoping to snap a four match losing streak here. #7 seed Buffel is another solid competitor who performs heroically in Davis Cup, but hasn’t quite made the big breakthrough yet – perhaps it will come here!!! Rounding out the seeds are bavaria100 – again a solid player who has an all surface game who is still searching for that one big result that could catapualt her into greatness.
