By Tennis Week
07/19/2006

The U.S. Open Series makes its 2006 network debut on NBC this weekend. NBC Sports will provide semifinal and final coverage of the RCA Championships from the Indianapolis Tennis Center in Indianapolis. Ted Robinson anchors NBC's coverage accompanied by analysts Jim Courier and Bud Collins.

Network executives are undoubtedly excited by the Indianapolis draw, which features top-seeded James Blake, second-seeded Andy Roddick and defending champion Robby Ginepri residing in different quarters setting up the prospect of an American presence in the semifinals. NBC will broadcast semifinal action starting at 1:30 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday.

The network will telecast the final beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, please visit RCA Tennis.com.

I assume this means there will be no coverage of quallies - TBH, I really didn't expect it, just curious. Are there any events at all in the world where quallies are televised? :)

Not much coverage unless you have The Tennis Channel  I remember last year ESPN did good coverage on this Tournament, but those days are apparently over

Not much coverage unless you have The Tennis Channel  I remember last year ESPN did good coverage on this Tournament, but those days are apparently over  :mad:I don't think so. NBC has covered indy the past 3 years, their coverage is almost identical. I watched the QFs on TTC last year, so I think the coverage is exactly the same, taped semifinal and all. I don't remember ever watching Indy on ESPN. They cover LA.

No, not exactly the Tennis Channel :)
It's a feed for European TV channels who have the live coverage of RCA Championships (for example Poverkhnost from Ukraine) and yesterday there was exactly the same stream which was on the Tennis Channel (but without commercials) :)
For sure today will be available feed from the NBC.
I hope for more coverages from US Open Series on Eutelsat W2 :)

BTW last week on this satellite was also feed for European channels from Newport semis and final, and it was from Fox Sports Network.

Anyway who is in Europe and is able to get this satellite signal enjoy!

So you have that channel?

You mean this channel gathers feeds from different european channels and is broadcasting it via satellite? Is this done by some Tennis Fans or who is responsible for doing that? And is that even legal?
What is the exact name of this channel? Is there a webpage?

I didnt know that there was a european channel (in this case a channel from Ukraine) having live coverage of Indy. Are they using the "Tennis Channel" commentary or how do you know that it was the same feed?

Yes, I can watch this channel.
You didn't understand me well. The host broadcaster sends feed via satellite to allow TV channels which bought licence to coverage it on their channels. It works like that in every case, on other sports matches, news feeds and many, many more :)
And why it's not legal when I can watch this channel like any other free on the air, like DSF, ZDF or many more :)
You know... that's very much enthusiasts on this world who catch feeds all days long :), but sometimes, they're encypted to allow ONLY to get it by this broadcesters which bought a licence. This case is different and we can watch this without any poroblems.
You see... that channels haven't got his name, host broadcasters (here: Globecast) have got leased some transponders on many satellites and give here feeds for others broadcasters, that channels works only in time, when it's the action, in other times signal is off.

Why I know about that was TTT feed? It was a TV station logo and yes, there was TTT commentators. You see... American broadcasters don't matter about other's countries broadcasters and they send them exactly that what they're showing ;)

Yes, it's true... ;)
