Haha but, for some reason 85% of this forum still thinks he is overated.

I mean what does he have to do to prove it to these people on this forum??

Not loose a point for a whole tourny? Beat Fed 6-0, 6-0, 6-0? Then maybe those people will be like "Roddick yea, he's alright"

You know, the sad thing is, if Roddick actually wins AO, 85% of the people here would STILL think he was "overrated". :haha:

Schalken is never going to bother the top players.

Next match is fascinating

Boring. The result, and most of the posts in this thread. We get it. Some people think he's overrated, and that's ridiculous. Agreed. Yawn.

He hasn't been tested. It will be interesting to see if Safin can trouble him. I doubt Safin will win, though.

Perhaps Safine will finally be the first real test Andy will have this tournament. I am getting worried that Andy hasn't been tested enough.

Either way, Safin is going down. :bolt:

I never like to see a player I like beaten badly so...

But :yippee: Andy.

And GOOD LUCK against Safin.

I'm looking forward to that match. I think it could go either way.

Yes... it's safe to say that I never thought Schalken had much of a hope in this match, and the extent of the scoreline just shows how much Roddick has improved his returns to be able to break twice in every set: as easy as 1, 2, 3, you might say... I do note with some satisfaction that Schalken not only held serve twice as many times as Dent but kept Roddick on court a whole seven minutes longer. Small mercies, you know, small mercies.

awww Sjengster

Andy played great.... but Sjeng really looked sluggish out there.

I didn't actually see the match, because thankfully Eurosport were showing the far more competitive Safin-Blake match at the same time... Rebound Ace definitely suits Roddick more, the high bounce gives his serve even more kick and the slowness of the courts means Schalken can't get much penetration on his groundstrokes. Considering his dire AO record, I have a feeling he was just happy with his achievement of getting to the second week...

Sjeng hit a few really nice backhand winners... but Andy was hitting deep groundies and forced sjeng to hit a lot of errors. Plus whenever he did go to net to try to be agressive (which the commentators anyway said was his best shot at troubling Andy), Andy passed him. Andy's also suddenly started returning really well and he got a lot of points by getting himself into the rallies more.

Roddick played well. Schalken didn't have a chance on Andy's serve games. But Schalken was far more inconsistent in the baseline rallies than I am used to seeing. Not his best form, but that may be due to the surface.

yeah.... even when Andy was 0-40 serving for the first set.... you sorta knew he wasn't gonna break.

I think rebound ace is the best surface for a baseliner with a two handed backhand.

At least the thread name did not say "kill". Damn, what's up with people these days?

When Scheng was asked whether he was happy with his achievement of a 4th round apperance.
he said "Yeah very much. First time in 9 years I have gone past the second round. Even the hotel has been asking me why I am still here."

was pretty funny the way he said it lol
