After Wimbledon 2006 Novak will play in Amersfoort, The Netherlands (he withdrew from Gstaad because he is very tired)!
Novak Djokovic - KING of AMERSFOORT (1st ATP title)! BRAVO Noleeeeee!MilanDokic 07-05-2006, 11:40 AM After Wimbledon 2006 Novak will play in Amersfoort, The Netherlands (he withdrew from Gstaad because he is very tired)! Scotso 07-05-2006, 03:08 PM Good luck Nole! :bounce: MilanDokic 07-05-2006, 08:22 PM Nole will be one of eight seeded players in the main draw of this event! Saumon 07-05-2006, 10:01 PM ALLEZ!!! Scotso 07-06-2006, 03:16 AM Hopefully he'll win it :yeah: I think he has a shot ;) savesthedizzle 07-06-2006, 03:37 AM The draw is weak. I see this his best shot this summer. Scotso 07-06-2006, 03:42 AM It's definitely a very weak draw... two major headcases are the top two seeds, and following that is a washed up Carlos Moya and a few other people. If Nole goes in with a winning attitude I think he could definitely take the title. savesthedizzle 07-06-2006, 03:56 AM It's definitely a very weak draw... two major headcases are the top two seeds, and following that is a washed up Carlos Moya and a few other people. If Nole goes in with a winning attitude I think he could definitely take the title. Two major headcases who he's beaten this year nonetheless ;) Scotso 07-06-2006, 04:24 AM indeed :D hopefully he doesn't think about it too much. ;) Nole_Je_Kralj 07-06-2006, 07:30 PM Vamos Nole! Scotso 07-06-2006, 10:45 PM Ajde! :bounce: CooCooCachoo 07-10-2006, 02:34 PM Good luck :wavey: Might see him there, if I go. The chances of me going are slim though  savesthedizzle 07-10-2006, 02:45 PM Good luck :wavey: Might see him there, if I go. The chances of me going are slim though  You should go!!!! :D Scotso 07-10-2006, 08:16 PM Be careful though, anyone who looks on him is condemned(?) to a lifetime of love. :p CooCooCachoo 07-11-2006, 05:52 AM You should go!!!! :D I can't go during the week as I have to work full-time. But I am thinking about going to qualies on Saturday, so he might be around ;) CooCooCachoo 07-11-2006, 05:52 AM Be careful though, anyone who looks on him is condemned(?) to a lifetime of love. :p  I have seen Novak plenty of times ;) Don't worry :p savesthedizzle 07-11-2006, 01:11 PM I can't go during the week as I have to work full-time. But I am thinking about going to qualies on Saturday, so he might be around ;) :D Scotso 07-11-2006, 06:59 PM Qualies are the best. CooCooCachoo 07-11-2006, 08:35 PM Qualies are the best. But Amersfoort isn't  Scotso 07-11-2006, 11:39 PM Lots of shit players? :tape: Maria_Maria 07-11-2006, 11:54 PM Lots of shit players? :tape: :haha: :tennis: Novak Dj 07-12-2006, 06:35 AM Nole will be one of the four top seeds, but he has to be careful. I hope he can make some good result. Vamos Nole. :D CooCooCachoo 07-12-2006, 07:16 AM Lots of shit players? :tape: No no, the field is not the issue. I tend to prefer a tournament when there are fewer Top 50 players. It's just that the tournament completely lacks ambience. And they just don't know how to organize the event  Rain delays when you can still play, not letting fans know when play will recommence, keeping the gates closed until well after the scheduled opening times, overcharging, not allowing the fans to watch players practise.. It's all of that that really makes me dislike the event. And everyone I have spoken too feels the same. Scotso 07-12-2006, 05:54 PM That sucks :( I would still probably go anyway, but yeah... that would bother me. Scotso 07-12-2006, 05:55 PM Nole will be one of the four top seeds, but he has to be careful. I hope he can make some good result. Vamos Nole. :D A top 4 seed :hearts: :bounce: 001 07-12-2006, 06:16 PM does anyone know how far away is amersfoort from amsterdam, lets say by bus?or train? savesthedizzle 07-12-2006, 07:07 PM does anyone know how far away is amersfoort from amsterdam, lets say by bus?or train? Are you going to go? Scotso 07-12-2006, 10:06 PM I'd love to be in the Netherlands next week. See Nole play. Go to Amsterdam for a little :smoke: CooCooCachoo 07-13-2006, 05:47 AM does anyone know how far away is amersfoort from amsterdam, lets say by bus?or train? Depending on your connection, from Amsterdam Central Station to Amersfoort it is only 30-45 minutes. Then you still need to catch a bus in Amersfoort to take you to the venue. From Schiphol (the airport) it is between 45 and 60 minutes. CooCooCachoo 07-13-2006, 05:47 AM That sucks :( I would still probably go anyway, but yeah... that would bother me. It really is enough to make you stop going  Well it is, in my case. Scotso 07-13-2006, 06:08 AM Are qualies free? In D.C. you have to pay for them. But since there's a free shuttle, it's really like I'm just paying for the cab ride. Saumon 07-13-2006, 11:38 AM In Paris (RG and Bercy) you have to pay to go to the qualies :ras: CooCooCachoo 07-13-2006, 12:46 PM Are qualies free? In D.C. you have to pay for them. But since there's a free shuttle, it's really like I'm just paying for the cab ride. They are hardly ever free, around here. In Rotterdam the price is OK, but I usually manage to get in free (and get access to centre court, which is not accessible for ordinary visitors :o). In Amersfoort it's €8,50, which is reasonable, but not for what I fear they will be offering. In Rosmalen it's a ridiculous €15 :help: And the men's qualies field is truly horrible :o Also, WTA Antwerp and Hasselt are €20 and €15 or something like that :rolls: It's crazy. It's almost as cheap to go to Roland Garros with a grounds pass :o And yes, I had to pay for Roland Garros qualies too. Wimbledon is free though. savesthedizzle 07-13-2006, 01:12 PM You have to pay for quallies for both Cincy and Toronto I believe, but not for the US Open :inlove: 001 07-13-2006, 01:37 PM Are you going to go? well i am not sure! i was planing to travel next week so i thought i can go to amsterdam to chill out, u know, crazy summer :drive: and if amersfoort is not far away i would go to some nole's matches... i am going to amsterdam for sure....but to amersfoort i'll see....cause there r few friends going with me and i am the only one crazy bout tennis and NOLE :worship: , so i dont think they would agree to lose one day just going to some shity place and watching the game they dont even like....maybe i can sneak out and go without telling them...my new gf would freak out!!! haha  :sport: CooCooCachoo 07-13-2006, 02:13 PM well i am not sure! i was planing to travel next week so i thought i can go to amsterdam to chill out, u know, crazy summer :drive: and if amersfoort is not far away i would go to some nole's matches... i am going to amsterdam for sure....but to amersfoort i'll see....cause there r few friends going with me and i am the only one crazy bout tennis and NOLE :worship: , so i dont think they would agree to lose one day just going to some shity place and watching the game they dont even like....maybe i can sneak out and go without telling them...my new gf would freak out!!! haha  :sport: :rolls: I don't think your friends would like Amersfoort much. It's not a small city, but it is not very nice for young tourists. But they could stay in Amsterdam  :) Scotso 07-13-2006, 03:52 PM Qualifying in D.C. is only $9 so it's really not that bad. I don't mind paying that for a day of tennis. 001 07-13-2006, 04:03 PM :rolls: I don't think your friends would like Amersfoort much. Well, they have some shops and such, but it's more or less an old town. Tourists that come there come for the zoo (very poor one, btw), the nature around the city, some of the old buildings and the shops. I don't know what your friends like  I recommend sleeping in the Golden Tulip Hotel (also the player's hotel). It's very nice  They had delicious brownies at the breakfast buffet last year  Maria_Maria 07-14-2006, 05:59 PM Wow, this is plenty of useful info. I have been developing the concept of me going to next year's RG. The second week obviously. I feel that Nole could make some damage at that particular event and I would like to be there and witness it. I have started collecting the info on the matter, and tossing some ideas about the best scenario. I will need some assistance from you lot. :wavey:  savesthedizzle 07-14-2006, 06:22 PM Wow, this is plenty of useful info. I have been developing the concept of me going to next year's RG. And Gabs, how much is it for a whole day of tennis and passes for going to different courts and stuff? Maria_Maria 07-14-2006, 07:57 PM My plan is to collect as much information as possible so I can start saving money. There are tournaments which are much closer to me like Rome, Umag, etc. but Roland Garros is sooo !!! I would love to go to Paris next year! Saumon 07-14-2006, 09:00 PM I don't know how much it costs, usually I go to the Benny Berthet day which is the charity day before RG starts. But the "normal" tickets I had were either won or given by a guy my dad knows. But you have to know it's very difficult to get tickets (a lil less difficult since this year but still), it's a lotery now. :o savesthedizzle 07-14-2006, 09:11 PM Jess, how come you were there for just a day? And Gabs, how much is it for a whole day of tennis and passes for going to different courts and stuff? I was on a trip through Europe and we were only in Paris for 3 days, so only one of those days was a free day that I could go to the tennis. It was the first Sunday. 001 07-14-2006, 09:12 PM ok guys, just to let u know that i arrived in amsterdam :D hehe i am one step closer to our boy.... :woohoo: :yippee: here is crazy, we just came but we r ready to freak out!!!i dont have time to write, just wanted to say hello, and my gf is already ready to kill me...women r crazy!!haha greetings from amsterdam!!! nikola :wavey:  :aparty: :music: :rocker2: uglyamerican 07-14-2006, 09:36 PM Crazy kids. Reserve them on-line or pay for them using a credit card or something simple like that? savesthedizzle 07-14-2006, 11:24 PM I'm not satisfied with the news from the field :) Aren't you supposed to just BUY the tickets? Reserve them on-line or pay for them using a credit card or something simple like that? It's very difficult to get tickets to RG now, I had to enter the lottery too. In the winter... December-February, you can sign up for the lottery and say when you want tickets, but they don't let you know until around April whether you get them or not, and you aren't charged until that later date. I think *most* people got what they wanted in the lottery, but there are limits to how many tickets you can get and how many days you can have tickets for the show courts, etc. I got all the tickets I wanted when I entered, which was one for each show court, so I had a good experience. This year was the first year they did it this way, it's done sort of like Wimbledon, but it's easier to get tickets in than Wimbledon still. My tickets were around 36-50 euro, depending on court and how good the seat was. Saumon 07-14-2006, 11:52 PM It's very difficult to get tickets to RG now, I had to enter the lottery too. I really hate the celebrities they always show on TV watching the matches. Like I care that Jennifer Aniston was at the Roland Garros final. And it annoys me they probably bent over backwards to give her those tickets when ordinary fans tried for over a year to get some unsuccessfully.
