Turn off the blaring bleat of your alarm clock and snap off the snooze button: ESPN2 will be delivering your daily Wimbledon wake-up call starting this month. ESPN2 plans to present 119 hours of coverage from the grass-court Grand Slam starting on Monday, June 26 and continuing daily through Sunday, July 9.

Each weekday of the fortnight, the network's coverage will commence at 7 a.m. Eastern time with "Wake Up To Wimbledon", a one-hour show featuring highlights, player interviews, features and analysis of the day's early action.

ESPN2 is promoting its Wimbledon coverage as daily "live coverage of matches", including all-day coverage the first week leading up to a live women's semifinals starting at 8 a.m. Eastern time on Thursday, July 6 and a live men's semifinal starting at 8 a.m. Eastern on Friday, July 7. Daily coverage for the first 12 days of the tournament (June 26-July 7), culminates with at least two hours of highlights and a review of the days play on "Today At Wimbledon" hosted by Suzy Kolber and Luke Jensen.

Chris Fowler will host "Wake Up to Wimbledon", scheduled to start at 7 a.m. Eastern Monday-Friday.

Three-time defending men's champion Roger Federer and Wimbledon women's winner Venus Williams, who has combined with sister Serena to capture five of the last six Wimbledon singles championships, will be bidding to defend their titles. Federer and Williams aren't the only ones returning. ESPN's voice of tennis Cliff Drysdale, who was sidelined from Roland Garros while recovering from a virus, will be back for Wimbledon. Former Wimbledon doubles champion Pam Shriver returns from maternity leave and will work as a roving reporter covering matches on the outer courts along with Jensen.

Dick Enberg will work his 23rd Wimbledon to call matches, sharing the duty with Drysdale, who has been with ESPN since its first tennis telecast in 1979, and Tim Ryan. They will team with analysts Mary Carillo, Patrick McEnroe, Mary Joe Fernandez and Brad Gilbert.

ESPN2 will air a half-hour Wimbledon Preview Show hosted by Carillo on Sunday, June 25 starting at 3 p.m. Eastern time.

Dave Matthews Band violinist Boyd Tinsley, an avid tennis fan and fitness fanatic, has composed the new theme music to be used throughout ESPN2's coverage of Wimbledon. Tinsley's Wimbledon theme is tiled "Ghosts Of Wimbledon."

"Being able to combine my love of music with my love of tennis was a unique experience for me," said Tinsley, who performed on the Saturday Night Live episode Andy Roddick hosted. "I am honored that ESPN has asked me to capture the power and gracefulness of a sport I respect, play and support."

Tinsley is not only a hard-core tennis fan, he's a supporter of the sport. In 2003, he launched an annual tennis tournament he hosts in his native Charlottesville, Va. The Boyd Tinsley USTA $50,000 Women’s Tournament draws top players around the world and inspires local children to take up tennis. Tennis fans can hear Tinsley's Wimbledon theme starting this month when ESPN begins airing ads promoting its Wimbledon coverage. ESPN was granted access to Wimbledon's Centre Court and filmed Tinsley playing his Wimbledon theme on Centre Court.

ESPN Deportes The Spanish-language network in the U.S., will offer 70 hours of Wimbledon programming, highlighted by daily coverage through the semifinals and Wimbledon.

I really hate that damn "Wake Up To Wimbledon" crap they show, when they could be showing live tennis.

I woke up early to check some wimbledon action on espn 2 and now I find it has disappeared from TVUplayer when it was there when I went to sleep last night . Anybody have a clue how to find it?

Wimbledon began today with a rain delay and the courts covered, and NBC will unveil its Wimbledon match coverage starting on Saturday at noon Eastern time with planned live and tape-delay coverage. Launching its 38th year of televising Wimbledon, NBC plans to serve up 38 hours of total coverage from the grass-court Grand Slam.

Play-by-play announcer Ted Robinson will be joined by analysts John McEnroe and Mary Carillo and reporter Bud Collins to cover the top stories of the fortnight, including Roger Federer's quest for a fourth consecutive title and Venus Williams' attempt to successfully defend the ladies' title.

NBC's "Breakfast at Wimbledon", live coverage of the ladies final begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 8 with the men's final coverage starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 9.

NBC getting coverage every day from now on really, really sucks. They just screw everything up.

does anyone have any idea if the federer vs. ancic match will be shown live tomorrow morning on ESPN or does NBC plan on showing it tape delayed later in the morning? i don't know if this type of information is released, but thought maybe it was. the reason i ask is because i'm planning on taking off work to watch if it's shown live, otherwise i'll just record it and watch after work since it will already be delayed.

Wondering the exact same thing...Federer v. Ancic play at 8am EST. so that would be the first match on and should be on ESPN2 live, but as we all know the butchering that NBC does with tennis (e.g. Agassi V. Nadal) we can probably expect some type of tape delaying...

If today's (July 4th) schedule was any indication, NBC taped delayed basically every match so i wouldn't be surprised if thats the way it is tomorrow...On the other hand, ESPN2 should be showing the Federer match at 8am, so hopefully the butchering will not continue...at least not on that match...

the match i could live without is the bjorkman v stepanek one (which comes on at 8 am EST. on court 1)...the hewitt, federer and rafa matches will all be sweet...i wouldn't mind if ESPN2 showed the Federer match live at 8am and then NBC continued it till its conclusion, then showed the Hewitt match live and updated on the Nadal match during the Hewitt match...and they could flip to the Nadal match if something interesting was going on...then ESPN2 could continue live once they get back on the air...that would be ideal...

I really feel the Federer and Hewitt match will be the two most competitive matches...or at least most interesting to watch...the Rafa match should be good for the first set, but if Rafa starts leading early it should end quickly...

This is why Wimbledon Live is best. I hope the other slams take the idea up.

So who knows who they will think will get the bigger ratings tomorrow - Fed or Rafa.

Its ludicrous. I thought Saturday was the worst. They wanted Rafa/Andre on their noon broadcast. So we had to wait to watch it on tape delay. But while they were showing that match on tape delay, Andy R was playing Andy M - so then we had to watch that on tape delay later on ESPN. Talk about ridiculous. But they wanted the Rafa/Andre match and so that's that.

American tennis fans are heeding their televised Wimbledon wake-up call in greater numbers. ESPN2's "Wake Up to Wimbledon", the one-hour daily preview show that begins at 7 a.m. registered a a 57 percent audience increase for the first week of the fortnight compared to the first five shows aired during the 2005 Wimbledon.

Hosted by Chris Fowler, "Wake Up to Wimbledon" averaged 146,000 households last week (Monday-Friday), which is a significant increase from te 93,000 households that turned into the show during the first week of the 2005 Wimbledon.

In addition, ESPN2’s all-day live coverage averaged 476,000 homes through Friday (excluding Monday’s rained-out session when 2005 action was aired), an increase of 13 percent (422,000) homes compared to last year. The departure of the last remaining American singles players over the weekend may well have a negative impact on ESPN2's numbers during this second week of Wimbledon.

ESPN2's live Wimbledon coverage continues Thursday with the all-Belgian women’s semifinal — second-seeded Kim Clijsters vs. third-seeded Justine Henin-Hardenne — at 8 a.m. Eastern time. Dick Enberg will call the action with Mary Joe Fernandez.

Tomorrow evening’s show will include tape-delay coverage of the semifinal between top-seeded Amelie Mauresmo and fourth-seeded Maria Sharapova with Cliff Drysdale and Pam Shriver courtside. ESPN2's tape-delay coverage of the Mauresmo-Sharapova semifinal starts at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
