you people need to realize that supporting a winning player doesnt make you better than anyone else. you're not the one playing out there you're just sitting on your couch watching the professionals play. when your favorite player wins dont act act all smug like you owned someone. you didnt do anything except watch it happen.

im tired of seeing all these rafa v fed topics where alll everyone jerks off to their favorite player and then flames anyone who supports the other player

grow up please thanks

 Nadal is clearly the favorite and I am pretty sure that he thinks he is contrary to what he may publicly say. If he wins on Sunday, nobody will or should be surprised (including Fed fans). I think after Rome, peace will be maintained and we will have rational discussions on this board. Um....who am I kidding?

Like a lot of people, I drift in and out of MTF. Sometimes it just gets too annoying, and I go away for a little while until it settles down. All the pointless threads started just to bash or create pointless drama...all the name-calling...all the condescending snark...it gets boring. Most of the people here just take things too damn personally. If you don't like their favorite player, you must be some kind of jackass. If you disagree with them, you must be some kind of drooling idiot.

So you like Nadal and Federer wins. It's not like Roger came over to your house and kicked your puppy.

So you're a Feds fan and Rafa wins. It's not like he slept with your girlfriend...and your sister, and your mother (and your brother...sorry, that's the slasher coming out).

It's tennis. There is a reason it's called a GAME.

I agree pretty much with most of the things that have been said!! What I don't understand is why this thing has started? Why is all that? I mean, someone said already, it is a game, so is mandatory to have a winner and a looser, but always with respect for each other and the winner eventualy will be a looser someday!! I don't quite remember anything from the players bashing each others or their fans for that matter, so I don't get it!! It is just a waiste of energy!! And on Sunday will win, in my opinion (tennis fan), the best on clay at the moment, but if the opposite happen will have all my respect since it will be damn deserve it!!

Deboogle!.

ales, you use the word respect several times in your post. that word is not in the vocabularies of probably at least half or more of the GM posters. that's why this happens. Lack of respect for others' opinions/feelings/preferences.

Thanks GWH and Sjengster.

How long did it take for him to recover? Schuettler got it too.

Sjengster
06-10-2006, 02:18 AM
He had to pull out of RG with an illness, he didn't know what it was then, and wasn't diagnosed properly until August, after which he only played one more match on tour for the rest of the year. He came back in January 05 for the AO, so overall it took a little over six months to get back to normal.... after which he developed the Achilles problem.

I'm sure Wimbledon will drive MTF crazy once again.

If Nadal wins, people will say it's expected, he's the favorite etc., it's Federer's worst surface, it's nothing special. If he loses, people will jeer, call him a one-hit wonder, no match for Roger, etc.

Either way, it seems most people are out to see this boy go down in flames. Don't see how that translates to him being the "favorite."

He's clearly an underdog here, whatever happens, facing the world number one on Sunday.

I'm rooting for him and I hope he wins.

Allez
06-10-2006, 11:40 AM
He is the favourite. But that's besides the point. There's gonna be a riot if Nadal wins as expected. The rafatards are going to come out in full force and proclaim an end of the "fedclown" era. The hate is going to be relentless. Thankfully Halle and Queens start next week so the riot should be short lived. Why can't we all just get along. As Federer says, we share the same planet!

Castafiore

Allez, there's going to be a riot either way. No matter who wins because there are idiots and -tards on both sides.

Why can't we all just get along
Because it's not simply not human to just get along?

Speaking in general terms (not aiming this at any poster in particular): a good start would be to stop nitpicking and come up with every little excuse in the book to hate/dislike a tennis player and use that pathetic excuse to justify the irrational hate/dislike you have for a certain player.
A good start would be to remind yourself that it's just a game?
Relax, enjoy it.

Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions

Federer, the self-declared clay specialist, can still bail himself out of a jam by tearfully saying, "clay's my worst surface." That still won't change the fact that he and his trolls considered him to be the best clay player since 2002. Hence, the "Nadal isn't better than me. He's quite one-dimensional.... Haas, Safin and Agassi have more game than Nadal" comments. Everyone's scared to death by Federer's wit and fairmindedness.

Bibberz

Will this place definitely turn to shit? What if there's a walkover (for some freakish reason) in Nadal's favor? Federer would be denied the FO, but he would not have lost to Nadal. Well, maybe conspiracy theorists would post all over the place....

Bibberz
06-11-2006, 11:26 AM
Well, if there was a walkover it would still be a "loss" since being physically ready is part of the game, but you know what I mean.
