Guille v Saulnier first round
Australian Open!Kiara 01-16-2004, 12:06 AM Guille v Saulnier first round JeLuliA88 01-16-2004, 12:49 AM GO Guille star 01-16-2004, 04:13 AM He's got some big servers nestled up close to him in the draw. Just hope he is feeling all right. There's no chance of my seeing him unless he goes into the final weekend. :( Jazzy 01-16-2004, 08:05 AM Vamos Coria!!!!!!! Ma. Estefania 01-16-2004, 12:29 PM Thanx for the info, Kiara. You're right at the exact moment everywhere! Je Je. Hmm....Saulnier? Where does he come from? His name sounds sort of known for me.... Is he a big server or not? star 01-16-2004, 01:30 PM Saulnier is a 27 year old Frenchman who has played most of his career on the challenger circuit. He had a nice run in Tokyo last year where he lost to Schuettler in the semis. That's his best result. I don't know his playing style, but he has a better winning ratio on fast surfaces. Jazzy 01-17-2004, 07:30 AM never seen Saulnier, hope Coria can beat him!!! Guille plays on the second day @ the AO!!! Jazzy 01-20-2004, 08:50 AM awwwwwwwwwwwww, Guille lost in three sets !!!! :bigcry:  :bigcry: star 01-20-2004, 12:37 PM Home > Sport > Tennis > Article Insult added to injury as Coria falls to big hitter in upset By Emma Quayle and Reuters January 21, 2004 Print this article Email to a friend World No.5 Guillermo Coria became the highest-ranked player to fall in the first round of the men's tournament. Coria lost 7-6 (9-7), 6-2, 6-4 to big-serving Frenchman Cyril Saulnier on a second bad day for the top-ranked men but refused to blame an abdominal injury that has sent him home to Argentina. The fifth seed was joined on the losers' list by Martin Verkerk, Felix Mantilla, Jonas Bjorkman, Feliciano Lopez and Max Miryni, but world No.2 Roger Federer cruised past American Alex Bogomolov jnr in straight sets, and co-seeds David Nalbandian, Juan Carlos Ferrero and Wayne Ferreira also advanced. Having lost the first set to Saulnier in a tie-breaker, Coria dropped the second set 2-6 and lost the first game of the third as he struggled to cope with the injury and his opponent's serve. Ma. Estefania 01-20-2004, 02:54 PM It's so sad. I watched the complete match, and it was sad to see him out there honestly, he had very few "enlightening" moments in which he could show all his magic on court. He looked uncomfortable all the time, Saulnier didn't let him play his game, and that's what kept Guille frustrated and cursing during almost all the last 2 sets, he seemed so upset....I was it too. :( Sorry Gui.....I guess, it will be next time, just take care now. Kisses. Kiara 01-20-2004, 03:39 PM cant say i didnt see this coming.....im so proud that guille stuck it out like a man and didnt retire after the tb! did anyone else think that guille has lost ALOT of weight? you could definitely tell he was in so much pain, i felt so sorry for the guy. I hope he gets better soon, abdominal injuries can be a bitch and a half to get over! maratgirl 01-20-2004, 05:21 PM too bad that he lost well I didn't expect it  mordicus18 01-20-2004, 07:20 PM LOL Mordicus.....btw, I've just noticed that you have only 62 posts, and I haven't seen you posting at other threads, then are all of them only here at Guille's forum? yes, because I a great fan of him, but sometimes, I go to nadal's forum, but I only read the messages, I don't send something (I keep all the fotos for me !) loly 01-20-2004, 08:11 PM Oh my good i m feel bad to see him like that. He'll live to play wonderfully another day. esther 01-21-2004, 11:50 AM I saw Coria on Monday practising and i was lucky to get a photo with him... he was really nice and posed for a couple of ppl. what time was he practising?! star 01-21-2004, 12:06 PM Thanks everyone for the bits of news.
