Your favourite Harry Potter book!

Well... what is your favourite Harry Potter book? A simple question made by a person who is very bored, but still has way too much to do :mad: :eek: :confused:

OK Let me start off.. I voted for HP & The Goblet of Fire, because it had the best storyline and contained more action than the other books. Also I felt, after having read #5, that it was not yet complete.

I voted HP & The Prisoner of Azkaban. But I like the 4th book as much as the 3rd one

For me the best is the prisoner of Azkaban. It has such an unique atmosphere. In my opinion in 4th and 5th book there´s a little bit too much action (especially the big showdown in book 5).

Prisoner of Azkaban, all of the excitment, none of the dying.

I like all of them but I realized that almost everyone like the 3rd one and that's also the only i which Voldemort doesn't appear...

Lol Hispanica. I really liked the Triwizard Tournament aspect in The Goblet of Fire, as well as the Quidditch World Championships.. Cedric dying was not that much fun, obviously. But a book doesn't need to have a happy ending, I think (although in the end, all will probably end well anyways).

I like th fourth one. I'm surprised so many people voted for the third book as I think it's one of the weakest.

I agree, Sam! I think the second one was weaker, but the third one was relatively weak too. But they were all a great read!

Great to read ones but I couldn't read them a second time right now... that's the difference with Lord of the Rings...

I still need to read the LOTR books.. I have them here, but there are sooooo many books I need to read first.. Ugh!

You really have to read the LotR-books, CooCooCachoo, they're much better as the HP-books. Especially the third book is great. Oh, and you should read the hobbit too!

yeah, you're right, I did do that too! Sad that there's no Legolas in the Hobbit :p

I have The Hobbit at home; a very very nice one actually, was about $40 or something and I got it for free :) :P Plus a lot of other books, because the Internet book company screwed up! A belated thanks to them should be in order :)

I did read it :) Well it tells a lot about ME, about a lot of creatures, and people who live in ME. But it has nothing to do with the LotR-story

The Silmarillion is about times before the LotR. I started reading it but I stopped because I found it very complicated and hard to read, altough I like LotR very much.

I started reading it but I had to read a lot of introductions and prefixes, which was soooo boring, so I quit. Now I have to read too much for school, so I have no time anymore :(

I'm in Canada as an exchnage student so I'm ok wwith that. I can read as much as I want

lol I will be going to Paris later this year, for four days, but I won't have time to read. Well, in the bus maybe. It's a school trip and they have everything planned.. Might be fun though, only I am going to have to stay with the grumpiest guy lol.. But he is ok, I guess.

:lol: Vaals is still far away from where I live. Almost every place in Limburg is close to Germany and Belgium ;)

i am not surprised about the 4th book cos in my opinion the book is fantastic but the end sucks.

I asked a girl about which book was her favourite one and she liked the 3rd one best cause the thinks that all the other books are the same... proof: they like when Voldemort is not in the book

Well, I liked the good against evil element which was the strongest in book #5, but that book just wasn't complete.. Rowling could've done more with that, I think.

Now, I really wonder how the next books will be cause imo, she doesn't write with the sae aim... just an opinion which can de critized

I agree on that. I also thought that the fifth book was different from the others, but I still see it as the second or perhaps third best book. Better than book #2 and #3 for sure.

Yeah, I really didn't like the second book. Other wise, the third was ok. But forth abd fifth were better.
Not as much for young kids imo...

Rhinocéros - Eugène Ionesco
La cantatrice chauve (Better than Rhinocèros, although the first has a more philosophical element to it) - Ionesco

Both plays are written in the style of "Le théatre de l'absurde".

Les justes - Albert Camus (again, a play)
Le petit prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

And.. this poem by Arthur Rimbaud:

"Le dormeur du val"

And "Familiale" by Jacques Prévert, another poem.

But the LotR books are the best!! :D

Well, you have a very good taste with "Le Petit Prince"... I love that book

If you like "le Theatre de l'absudre", you might like the play "La solitude dans les champs de coton" by Bernard Marie Koltes... Very special but you might like it... it a very short book too.

David Thewlis (he's TOTALLY different from what I imagined!) I dunno y but I always imagined Lupin like Lucius Malfoy but with friendlier eyes and nicer but more tired face. But grey eyes and light hair. This dude is completely different!
