I don't really know anything about Radek. I have seen the name in Tournaments, but that is all :shrug: And it seems like all the Forums I have been in recently the players' fans are all unhappy with the Hamburg draw :eek: :sad:

Ok guys, I'm worried. Seen the 1st set and Marcos lost 3/6. Can't go on watching as our chanel has skipped to hockey now!! :ras: But our boy is really really really in a bad shape, due to that shitty cold he caught in Rome. He's got big trouble breathing properly, coughs very hard (sounds like some bronchitis) and looks exhausted after every rally, like he had run the NY marathon. :awww: That's surely painfull to watch. Of course, Stepanek sees that Marcos is not well and takes advantage every time he can, with dropshots. But our boy has fought. He had double break against him but managed to break back once. What really scared me was at the very 1st changeover. When Marcos looked at Guillaume and said "j'arrive pas" (I can't do it), showing his chest, as he obviously couldn't breathe. He really looked tired, with rings under his eyes.

Following on the livescores now, and Marcos has been broken. I feel sorry now.

Thank you Choupi for all the info. It was frustrating because we couldn't get
any information of what really was happening. It's still bad but better a cold than another injury.It sounds a bit like what happened to Jarkko in Munich.

Well I knew that some of you guys here weren't getting coverage. Hence why I straight posted about the situation. And I agree with you. I'm kinda relieved it's no injury. But it was really painfull to see him that way.

With Nadal and Federer withdrawing, It was a great opportunity for Marcos to score big points here. I think if he was in good health and produced the level of tennis he played against for example Berdych and Gaudio in the US, he could have won it. Shame.

I was watching it on Sky Sports and seeing him struggle like that against Stepanek was heart breaking. He was ill even before the game btw. The commentator said that he had cought a flu in Rome. When he conceided the match he looked devastated.

Thank you Choupi for giving us all that information. I had no idea that Marcos was even ill. Poor Marcos he has really had a run of bad luck lately :sad: I hope things change for him and soon :yeah:

Baghdatis became dizzy and pained during his match with 15th-seeded Radek Stepanek. He attributed it to antibiotics he took for three days in Rome last week. After an on-court examination, the Cypriot's attempt to continue was short-lived and he quit in the next game, down 6-3, 3-1.

"I was sick in Rome but was feeling better lately," Baghdatis said. "Today, though, I wasn't feeling well. I started to feel better after four or five games, but then there was a long rally and I felt I couldn't breathe, my heart was pumping really fast."

Well I hope that since the site says "getting ready for RG" he must be better. You know it is interesting that Tommy Haas and Marcos both had breathing problems while in Hamburg. It was stated that Tommy had a pollen allergy, but he looked (in pictures) really bad. And you had said Choupi that Marcos looked really bad. And they had both been in Rome before Hamburg. I really think an illness was going around because while I didn't see Marcos in those pictures of Tommy I think he looked too bad to just have had a pollen allergy only.
