Hello amanda. Do you still manage wtaworld.com? If so, could you help me with a problem I've had over there ever since the boards changed. I go to log in and it says I've successfully done this yet I keep being directed to the same page that tells me I need to log in before posting, opening attachments, etc. And then I go back to the homepage and it says I'm not logged in. So I log in but am immediately kicked out. What's going on?

Thanks a bunch, tall_one. But the problem seemed to fix itself, actually, and I can post now. 24 hours do make quite a big difference.

They had some other web hosting site with a message like that, this morning.

I guess they're changing servers, or testing junk.

WTAworld.com - we apologise for the recent downtime. Unfortunately, serious database corruption issues have now left us no alternative but to go back and rebuild an older backup. This will result in some data loss and restoration will take around 10 hours.

THANK GOD ILL BE ASLEEP but for u other guys i feel sorry for u :crying2: :(

eh. when will the troubles be gone? I don't even understand what has happened? the site just shuts down after majors? I don't recall this happening after Paris or London or New York last year?

Willow
02-04-2004, 01:35 AM
Actually it did close down for about three days after RG last year, if you remember.

Anyway I find it's not unusual for forums to have problems sometimes, it's something to do with the server and the database and the whosamaflips and whatsamacallits.

I do have exactly the same problem as the one who opened this thread here long time ago:

I go to log in and it says I've successfully done this yet I keep being directed to the same page that tells me I need to log in before posting, opening attachments, etc. And then I go back to the homepage and it says I'm not logged in. So I log in but am immediately kicked out. What's going on?

so logging in over there is totally impossible now, I tried deleting all cookies in internet explorer but the problem doesn't disappear

Truc
11-05-2005, 09:25 AM
Same here, and deleting the cookies doesn't help either.
To avoid the problem, I use the http://www.wtaworld.com/mycookies.php URL to access to the board, but it's not a very elegant solution.

wtn_amanda
11-05-2005, 10:36 AM
Try temporarily disabling any security products such as AntiVirus or Firewall and see if that solves the problem.

Ivanatis
11-05-2005, 11:10 PM
after some bad experience with virus etc. in the past I guess I'll prefer Trucs proposal :)

Did you change something after we talked about it, Amanda? I don't have any problem anymore on WTAworld.com!
(I also installed another antivirus software a few days ago for other reasons, maybe that was indeed the problem.)
However, that's great, just in time for the YEC!

No nothing has changed at our end.

It's almost certainly a problem with your security products if the cookie thing resolves the problem. If your security software is blocking cookies and session data, it will make it impossible to stay logged in properly and use your account on the site.
