Who would you seed top 5 at Wimbledon?

Assuming the ranking into wimbledon end up like this:

1. Federer
2. Nadal
3. probably Ljubicic'
4. Nalbandian, but he can overtake Ljubicic with good results in TMS and FO.
5. Roddick

How would you make the seedings?

I am thinking that with Nadal being a very weak grass player and same for Ljubicic (he should play better on grass but his results have been horrible) than you have Nalbandian who is a finalist and got to QF last year, Roddick is to far behind I think in the rankings to justify putting him at 2, i think I would give Nalbandian the #2 seed.

And my seedings would look like this:
1. Federer
2. Nalbandian
3. Roddick
4. Ljubicic
5. Nadal

I would seed them according to rank except give Roddick the #2 for outstanding grass performance (2x finalist)

Therefore

1. Federer
2. Roddick
3. Nadal
4. Nalbandian
5. Lubicic

You've left out what the seeding is actually going to be:

Federer
Nadal
Roddick
Ljubicic
Nalbandian

(or maybe Nalbandian before Ljubicic)

My math say the seeds will be like this:

1 Federer
2 Nadal
3 Roddick
4 Nalbandian
5 Ljubicic
6 Davydenko
7 Hewitt
8 Ancic
9 Coria
10 Johansson
11 Gaudio
12 Blake

Based on the last rankings.

When do the seedings come out? Is it before or after Halle and Queens?

If Roddick does well- then I think it should be:

Roger
Roddick
Nalbandian
Nadal
Ljubicic

If Roddick and Nalbandian do well at either- and Nalby does well during the FO then I think you could argue:

Roger
Nalbandian
Roddick
Nadal
Ljubicic

If Nadal and Luby do well at either- then frankly- I have no idea.

Nadal is so far ahead of the #3 that's almost an outrage not to put him as #2 seed. So, he's never done well on grass before, but he can prove to have improved in Queen's (though I doubt he'll have a successful grass season this year, especially if he repeats everything he's done last year on clay).

As for grass performances alone, guess it would have to be:
1) Federer
2) Roddick
3) Nalbandian
4) Nadal
5) Ljubicic

And for grass performances including other players besides the TOP5, then:
1) Federer
2) Roddick
3) Hewitt
4) Nalbandian
5) Grosjean

For some reason this made me realize that there are only 3 Wimbledon Champions still playing on the tour: Agassi, Hewitt and Federer.

The Australian has 4: Agassi, Johannson, Safin, Federer

The USO has 5: Agassi, Safin, Hewitt, Roddick, Federer

Roland Garros has 7 if you count Costa, who just announced retirement: Agassi, Costa, Ferrero, Nadal, Kuerten, Gaudio, Moya

how is that
what do u mean bonus points?

To calculate the Wimbledon seeds:

1. Start with players actual points (after Halle and Queens)

2. Add 100% of points earned on grass in the last year.

3. Add 75% of points earned on grass the previousl year.

Example:
Andy Roddick

He will get 700 extra points for last wimbledon (and more for '06 queens).

He will get 168.75 for '05 queens,
and 525 for '04 wimbledon,

For a total bonus of 1393.75.

Example 2:
Nadal has only played '05 wimbledon (35 extra points) and '05 Halle (3.75 extra points), for a bonus of only 38.75.

Any of the above, with Fed UNSEEDED. After 3 championships, you should have to work a little extra. More people would watch the matches, and its not like Fed won't win anyways. ;)

Moderately more seriously, it would make a great joke. They release the draw with Fed's spot switched with Roddick's rnd 1 opponent. The world would have a heart attack. Then a couple of hours later they give the real draw.

The seeding committee must review the video carefully before determining the appropriate ranking for Xristos.

If I was the Wimbledon seeding committee probably

Federer
Nadal
Roddick
Nalbandian
Ljubicic

Nadal will probably be too far ahead for Roddick to pass him.

If I'd make my own seeding, I wouldn't give a shit about grass results and follow the ATP ranking.

there is no real reason to change them at all. Roddick's drop in form hasn't been down to any significant external injury factor so i don't think he should be protected.

Maybe push Hewitt into the top 8 but then again i'd put Blake in the top 8 (if he isn't aleady) as well as Ancic and Gonzalez before him based on who i expect to go deeper.
