Will Rafa storm to the title and break even more clay records? Or can Ivo Klec find a way to stop him?

Do Andreev, Berdych, Coria, Davydenko, Ferrer, Ferrero or Robredo have any weapons to stop him?

Noone can stop Nadal, unless he's really tired after today's match... We'll see, I think he has some time to recover.. I hope JCF can do well again this year, he has a lot of points de defend:) GO JCF:bounce:!

Novak pushed Federer all the way in MC. So he is going to be the biggest threat.

Djokovic has to play him in the last 16 already. That might be better than playing him in the semis or final.

But not much better. Novak must be a bit frustrated with his recent draws.

I think the only way someone not named Rafael Nadal wins this tournament is if Rafa doesn't play.

Nadal beats Ferrer in the final.

No difference. :) I just thought it was the only way to spread out the votes more evenly.

I think 90% here will vote for Nadal.

Depends on how much this streak means to Rafa, otherwise we might see another convenient loss somewhere this week.

why rafa is nominated 2 times on the same poll?

Nadal beats Ferrer in the final.

That's what I think too, but I'd be equally as happy if somehow Ferrer won the title.

I'd love to see Robredo winning it again :bounce:
Rafa, don't be greedy, take a rest and win Roma and Roland Garros :p

The only weapon with which they could stop Nadal is with a machine gun.
If he plays, he'll win.

rafa all the way. no way any of these mofos can touch him. The fact that he just beat federer again will also be weighing heavily on the field. I'd say coria could take it if he could get his serving together (poor guille -- the shoulder surgery has clearly messed with his serve  ) . Also, I don't think he'll be too tired from Monte Carlo.

Does anyone know if any station will be broadcasting this tournament?

Does anyone think Novak could give him a match this week?
Novak hits flat hard and deep like Blake and Nadal has problems dealing with that. None of that soft and loopy crap which gives Rafa advantage. Given, it's clay and Rafa has a streak going but I smell a good match up here

Why are there two Rafael Nadals?

NYCtennisfan
04-24-2006, 03:42 AM
Interestingly enough, I see Novak with the best shot at him early. Other than that, I see Rafa winning it if he really wants to. He still has a lot of tennis ahead of him this clay seasona nd he doesn't want to burn out.

Because it seems like there are two Nadals on court when trying to get the ball past him. :)

:rolls: I can't be quite THAT optimistic.

Jimnik
04-24-2006, 07:18 PM
I think everyone was a little too optimistic about Djokovic.

What about Kolya? Why do people still doubt him even though he nearly made the Roland Garros final last year?

ChloeLove
04-24-2006, 07:25 PM
Maybe Djokovic in the finals? Or is that still being too optimistic, then again I like Robredo. One of the other, vs. Nadal in the finals. That would be a pretty final.

Rafa is still callibrating his game, a win here is by no means guaranteed. I doubt that he thinks of his current streak on clay too much. On the other hand, this is a big optional on his own bakyard, so it is hard to see him tanking.

I'm very curious about Lopez-Nadal on wednesday. They are very good friends and sometime doubles partners; and Lopez beat him (granted in 2003) in their only meeting.

Most likely Nadal will blow him out--and bagel him, but there is a slight chance that Feli will be less intimidated than others and will take it to him HARD. Friends are always more competitive--and as Moya said in Miami after beating Nadal, the lower-ranked friend often has the advantage.
