Federer was never really challenged in this one other than a BP Gonzo had early in the 2nd set that would've put him up 3-1. Fed has only faced 11 break points in this entire tournament which is amazing for a clay TMS event. He is easily the 2nd best clay player in the world right now.
Tommorrow's final vs. Nadal should be a great one.

Should have gotten one of those two match points at 5-3 (made his break point conversion worse), but he got a real good amount of first serves in. Hopefully these good matches will translate on to the final, but Nadal is a different matter altogether.
Congratulations on reaching the finals, Roger, and nice showing, Fernando!

Federer had more difficulties in Halle last year than he has had here. Nadal is a totally different story though.

Gonzo only won 13 points on the Federer serve in 9 serve games which is being totally dominated if that match is played on clay. He probably won 8 or 9 of those points in 2 games, so in the other 7 games, he only won 4 or 5 points. Too easy so far for Feds.

Keep the errors down and his serving percantage has too be up.

his serving percantage has too be up.
His 2nd serve is better than the 1st serve of 99% of the pro tennis players...

I'm a bit dissapointed with Feña, but totally expected ;)
I'm sure if Feña had won this match (in a miracle  ), Rafa had been very afraid for the final (see H2H, and for Feña's kind of play like it said a thread weeks ago), but with Fed winning I'm sure he's really confortable now :yeah:
