Casablanca Draws are out... El Aynaoui given only a Qualies WC.

Main draw wild cards going to:

Mounir El Aarej
Mehdi Tahiri
Lamine Ouahab [From Algeria]

:retard:

Unless Younes requested a Qualies WC, I find this unacceptable  :speakles:

Besides, he still playes a futures event in Rabat. Jelena estimated it's about 100 kms, and she also said there is a scheduled exhibition match between Younes and Hicham on Sunday.

As for me, I think it's ridiculous to not to give him a WC. Who did more for tennis in Morocco? :awww:

Younes will play Ouahab in the semi finals of the Rabat Future  How the heck can they have done this?

Tahiri is already out in that Future  :smash: Ouahab is not even Moroccan!

Wasn't Ouahab an African champ or something

Casablanca sadly saying is an African Slam.

Probably in the absence of all good players.

Ouahab is best remembered for giving Tommy [R.] an easy draw at the Olympics in Sydney :tape:

And someone was talking about African unity. Not a single WC, main draw or qualy going to non-Arab Africans..

Ouahab is remembered for some other things as well but I am not supposed to mention it according to the challenge I have taken.

But I think if you check his Davis Cup Profile and take a short look at the menu of threads in non-tennis, you will guess what I mean because you seem a smartie.

One of the very few Argentines in the ATP rank that i don't support. Sorry.

I am supporting Carlos Berlocq in this tournament, however Mahut is playing great now, at least on hard.

Yes, he wants to play Qualies in the same weekend he is in the semis of a Future event. :retard:

I've been to the hotel Hyatt in Casablanca for the sign in and draws.
At around 5 pm, after Younes lost to Ouahab in the Rabat Futures SF 6/4 6/4, he finaly received the WC for Casablanca Main Draw. But, knowing his pride and human qualities, he simply offered his WC to Mounir El Aarej in response to the Moroccan Federation lack of professionnalism. In fact, on wednesday, they "decided" to give the last WC to someone else, and changed their mind only friday during El Aynaoui- Ouahab match. I think this a great act from Younes, he doesn't their WC in these conditions, he wants to play qualies and he has a pretty easy qualies draw. Plus, he did not receive a WC in qualies and he's seeded number 3. The 3 WC went to: Mehdi Tahiri (Moroccan champion)- Lamine OUAHAB (African Cup champion 2005) and Mounir EL AAREJ ( offered by El Aynaoui ).
I'm sure Younes is going to do a lot of damage in the MD also. I can't wait.

I'm sorry, I took a challenge ;)

But it's nothing really important about Ouahab.

Back to topic... there really seem to be a mess in the federation.

Soraya - Yeah I fear we are misunderstanding each other a little, at least what I meant was that it's the only ATP level event played in Africa and I used some sarcasm to call it a Slam.

For once I won't be sad because it means he is more likely to be in Munich the week after - and I will be there too :)

You havn't been reading the posts here properly. Younes has been directly accepted into to the qualifying rounds so no WC was needed there. He was lately offered a WC into the main Draw due to his good performance in the futures event but declined becasue he was originally refused one due to him declining to play Davis Cup. In any case he does not face tough competion to qualifying into main draw. Besides 3 Arabs were given WC's.

Unfortunately for all his fans, Younes withdrew from the qualies. He was supposed to play his second round match this afternoon also. It has been said he suffers from a pain in his elbow, and he had a protection stuff on it but took it away before starting his first round. Well, I saw him playing the first round, he was just extremely convincing!!! I'm so sad ! The Moroccan Federation destroyed everything during this week, not giving him the WC for MD early and changing their mind in the last minute. No comment! This could have been a great week for Younes. Too bad for his fans, and too bad for Morocco !

He just seemed like a top 50 player this morning ! I think he'll continue at least until the end of 2006. His level is not bad at all! And he's on the list of next week's challenger in Tunis. I'm SO MAD !

Deboogle!.

thank you for the updates, pete. I am so sad to hear that he was playing well and then had another injury problem :( The tour is just not the same without him.

Good that he won, but yeah, his opponent was a complete nobody. Only a respectable opponent on his path in the final qualifying round.
